Club Behringer? hey hey hey

I'm sure there are many people who admire products from this value-packed manufacturer who are just afraid to admit it.

All Behringer gear seems to be of tried-and-true design. Most of their inner components are used in other, yet, highly acclaimed manufacturers' products. C'mon, does Toshiba and Fairchild ring a bell?

COME ON! Their EP 2500 Amplifier ROCKS, and is almost internally IDENTICAL to if not better than (brand X's). can anyone figure it out?

I hate to crash the party, but it IS tired and true design. Behringer stole other company's designs and reverse engineered them into their own. NOTHING that they make are an original design. Thats the main reason that A. people hate them and B. people love them. They perform identical (usually) to higher priced stuff because its the exact same product, made in germany with inferior parts.

Just dropping some knowledge, I bet when behringer develops an R&D department the prices will jump and it will still be the lackluster quality gear that sometimes does EXACTLY what a bass player wants.

That being said, I love my BX1200 ultrabass combo, even though the speakers blown, the tone shaping is nonexsistant and the amp panel shocks me everytime i touch it! its got character, right?

I got a BDDI21 a sansamp BDDI copy- works OK & good as a back up D/I also! So while I wouldn't buy an amp or similar some of their gear seems to work well enough. Oh yeah I also got given a Bass V-amp for me B'day a cuppla yrs ago- within 9 mths it broke-properly!!!! The sent me a new one promptly & this one has been going well ever since. I've used it on about 10 gigs & mainly use at home for a learning too-U can plug in a CD & adjust the vol. of it & play along with a nice amp/spkr sim. Works well for what it is IMHO/IME!

Play it through a Avatar B212 delta and B210 Neo Cab

Beat me to it. I like a lot of Germans - and Chinese too ; } - but the Behringer leadership is not among them.

I did some work at a rehearsal studio that had bass backline of a Behringer head ontop of G-K 4x10 Cabinet.

I really wanted to dislike it. But I didn't. I don't.
It would lack headroom I think for anything other than a small club, and it would not be the ultimate choice for me but.

I had to like it. No doubt the GK cab was helpful, but hey, the amp sounded good.
It had a clean, defined low-end, and I admit to using and having fum with the "Ultrabass"!!!

I just could not hate this rig, even looked forward to using it with that project- Funky, Latin-based R&B.

Whatcha gonna do??:confused:

Current Behringer Stuff
BDI21 - wouldn't gig without it
HA4700 Headphone Amp - very nice kit
CT100 Cable Tester - Again, don't gig without one

Past Behringer Stuff
Something 4500 Head - Beefy, heavy, sounded very nice, but had a 60Hz hum from an internal ground loop (easily fixed, but stupid design)
FCB1010 MIDI Controller - built well, but waaaay overkill
Guitar V-Amp Pro - WONDERFUL, but went with multi-effects instead (this is more of an amp modeler)
Headphones - Sound Decent, not like Sennheisers, but definitely acceptable
1204FX Mixer - This was surprisingly a great mixer

The Ultrabass BX1200 combo, I didn't really have an amp that could handle a low B (playing through a guitar practice amp at the time) so when I ordered my 5 string I included the ultrabass so I could have a bass amp to play through. Since then I've used this little sucker in the following ways:

+ As a practice amp

+ As a makeshift PA system when my band's was on the fritz

+ As a keyboard amp for that two weeks I decided to play keys (:()

- As a vocal monitor at a show (as of that show, the front panel shocks you when the volume is turned past 6)

- As a D.I. (colored like nobody's business even while bypassing the eqs)

- As a bass amp in band practice when I was without a cab (blown voice coil, or something)

- As a coffee table (no room to put stuff on the top)

+ As a fun machine to mess around with (It makes weird sounds like all the electrical problems and speaker mishaps it's undergone, I don't plug anything by my old ibanez gio into it for fear of it blowing up my active basses :hiding: )

So I've used and abused this guy, but I still think that I didn't overuse it enough to cause all the problems it has. shoulda gotten a kickback instead... but now that I have the thing, eh, I can't bring myself to get rid of it, it's seen too much!

I'm looking at a used Behringer Ultrabass BX3000T, to pair with a set of 2x10 and 1x15 cabs. The reviews on this site are all pretty favorable for this specific amp, but I've also seen other posts where people say "anything but Behringer".

So what gives??

I'm new to the amp/gear selection process, so still learning all the nuances.
