For those owners of CB fretless basses, which strings do you use? I've been using DR Sunbeams on my non-CB fretless and see some minor signs of wear on the board (ebony). The CB I have on order will also have an ebony board, and I really don't want to mar it. I know I can go the flats route, but am very inexperienced when it comes to them (I've only ever tried one set -- Labellas on a P). Note: The CB I ordered will be a 5er, 34", set-up

I use LaBella tapewounds, but I'm finding that the D string must not have as much of a steel core as it sounds perfect through the piezo, but a little weak through the magnetic pickups.

If you really want to stick with roundwounds, you can get the fingerboard coated or go with a semi-synthetic fingerboard.
