It has probably been covered, but Chris Wood has one of these. It wasn't as pretty as the basses above. I think he occasionally uses it, but largely plays his P-bass and upright.

Cool, thank you - I've never played a Curbow (and might have only encountered a Bordwell briefly, once), but I know that some broadneck Warwicks were made with 20mn spacing. (There have been others.) Don't know the nut width on those, but 2-3/16 sounds wide on a 5-string.
Who knows, though, maybe I'd dig it if I played one!

6A roasted Maple neck blank for a scarf joint style neck pic sent from Cliff.
I was talking to Cliff this morning about the neck wood on my upcoming order. I didn't choose this option, but wow!
It's there for the taking if anyone else is interested.
Im going with all Wenge because weight will not matter since its only a 32" scale 4 string.

No worries, it's the uncut neck wood. So it's the whole neck, not fingerboard.Forgive my naivety but would this be for a fingerboard, or the neck itself? It looks insane.

Not sure if you've ever tried a roasted maple neck, but man they are the jam. I've owned a few of the newer music man basses that had them. VERY NICE!

Meet the Bordwells.

What is Cliff's build time these days?
Thanks, a local college student stopped by this afternoon and played lots of basses including all of the Bordwells. He picked up the fretless 6 and start noodling the Jerry was a Race Car Driver riff, I laughed. That fretless 6 has been one of my favorite basses for a long time! So nice...
