Club Bordwell Part 4

How about this Shuker...

I personally don't really like the whole grab handle. If it's not a single cut, you can just carry it with the top horn ;)

Alright, my number has come up.

Quick question, what do you guys think about a headless with an Ibanez Jem-ish carry handle on a headless bass. Too much? Probably don't need it, but it was something random that popped in my head.
I don't like that idea and would not order it. That being said when my Cliff is done in about 4 months some will think me brilliant and some a moron. That is not my bass so do what feels right to you. Cliff has some guidelines but is quite flexible. When paying a premium for a "custom" you have some options. Cliff has a bandsaw and a drill press so he can lop off the head and whip out a few holes in the body. Have some fun and do what you want otherwise everyone would be playing a black P bass. Some like Blonds and others prefer Brunettes.

The Shuker is not a flattering example.

Headless fretless Ball 6 with a 2 tone amboyna burl top.

Ha, I didn't say I liked it ;) Just the only example I could think of...
I think with the Ball shape, a grab handle might be overkill to be honest, bar potentially saving a little weight?
Either way, I'm excited to see how your bass comes along. Will it be regular scale length?

34" scale. I guess my idea of going headless was partially inspired by carbine rifles. Between the M4 and Ibanez Jem, I thought it might be a nice option. Agreed that it's probably overkill.

Fine tuning the specs of my headless 6. Cliff and I were discussing getting a Nordstrand Bigman pickup, but that doesn't appear to be available as a 6 string at the moment. Back to the MM pickup. Switched the fingerboard from stabilized to pao fero. My first bass had nice pao fero fingerboard and it's such a nice looking, sounding, and feeling wood.
