Do any of you use light gauge strings on your 32" scale basses? Lately, I have been detuning a half-step on my 34" scale 4-string. If I lighten up my touch a bit, I could probably go for a custom 32" scale with lighter gauge strings. It's rather fun!
I've had an E to E set ordered from Kalium since January.. wish I could tell you.

Ever think about trying Mangan strings? They're usually good about custom bass strings.
I play 125 100 80 60 40 28 on my 31.5" 6ers and I love the feel.
Interestingly, I used to play regular gauge when I played more regular scale basses.
I'd certainly give lighter strings a try on medium scale, I love it!
No, I've had light strings on it for a while and my others too. The only one with anything heavier is my 4 string which wears TI Flats.Interesting! I thought you were using heavy gauges on your Salace 6.

Definitely worth a go, it's a lot of fun
How frustrating!

Wow I actually finally got my Kalium strings last night!
I installed the E to E set, sound great. They're actually for a Bass VI, with small ball ends, so I had to clip the ball ends off my old strings and slide the new ones through. Worked great. Also, saved a pretty penny going this route ... Much cheaper than standard six string bass set.
I actually had Mangan strings on it before, for years. Just wanted to give Kalium a shot. The wait was ridiculous, but happy with the product. I got a B-C set for my pending SCB 6 as well.
I just got these for my 32 / 6 , I will let you all know how they do.View attachment 4218335
Yikes those are some weirdly unbalanced adjacent guages. Do they play alright?I just got these for my 32 / 6 , I will let you all know how they do.View attachment 4218335
I think my query was a bit jerkish. I've become a little too obsessed with balanced tensions but of course that's not the only consideration in a string. Not sure yet , same gauge as the DR strings Cliff put on stock , we will see
Yup, +1 on that!I will say that TI strings sometimes have strange looking numbers, but always work perfectly.
