Sounds like a way cool build. I'm very interested in this one--especially the hollowed out Ball bass.

Normally, I'm not a fan of a single cut on a 4, but that one seems 100% appropriate for some reason.

This is the 1st "SCB" 4-string and I am with you, single cuts never
seem quite right on a 4-string. I did a lot of changing around of the
shape to work with a 4-string. I am glad you guys like the results.

Thanks DaveAceofBass.

The top on that "SCB" 4-string looks insane! Cliff's updated website makes the wait for one of his basses go by really fast.

I want another one with a carbon fiber neck now :help:

I believe Cliff is looking into that. I've kinda pitched the idea that it would be kinda cool if he'd do partial graphite necks (using graphite as a big center strip) that way he'd be able to do 4 strings on up at varying scale lengths and string spacings. I dig the idea of graphite necks, but obviously us custom folk have fairly different desired specs, which would typically require a ton of molds.

Wow, that sounds like a good idea. Has everyone ever done that before?

Not sure. I think so, but I don't know so. It would mostly be an issue of finding a graphite company that could do it. He had mentioned the idea of graphite to me in conversation once and my gears got 'a grinding. I know Bee offers a 5 string and a 7 string neck, but you only get the one neck option. How long did we hear people complain that Modulus wasn't offering 19mm and/or 34" scale?

I thought of things from the custom bassist perspective and figured this would be kinda cool and still uber flexible from an options perspective.

Yes, that is an awesome idea!
