Scott, that is an absolutely gorgeous bass. :bassist:

Thanks for all the comments! Cliff got the new body shape that I asked for down to every detail! He is so easy to work with, and truly gifted!!! The bass feels more like a SC when I play it sitting down compared to the original ball bass I have.

The bass sounds even better than it looks too.

Here is the link to all the pictures I took. They were taken rather quickly because I was really amped to take it out and play it.

Scott,

I HATE YOU!!!;)

That bass is flat out awesome! Congrats on a sweet instrument. Now if it had frets, I may have to commit a federal crime (I believe that if you cross state lines and rob someone, it is federal). Just kidding. Enjoy it man.

I can't wait for some things to pan out here in the next couple of months so I can get back into a CB 5 string.

Thanks man :D

I feel for you on buying another one... right now you only have that freaking awesome Purpleheart Ball Bass that was the inspiration for me adding all the Purpleheart to my bass! I would lock your's up too :ninja:

I don't know if any of the new builds are for tb perusers, but I can confirm that the "P" is in fact Fender Precision styled. Cliff and I were talking about a more vintage approach right before I had to postpone my order, and he said that in this batch he was making a precision style bass. However, it is going to have a holly wood top, and I am most sure it will have the standard (read: totally awesome!) CB headstock. As always, it will play feel, and sound phenomenal.

Best,
Justin

Not much new with me, although I might look at auditioning for some bands this week. Biking has kept me busy, but I still have an urge to play music from time to time.

I recently lost my 3mm truss rod wrench and Cliff sent me a new one. Got my bass back where it should be and it's still great! I may need to look at getting the polyester fingerboard refinished sometime.

My bass is a funk machine supreme. :hiding:

I have never delved into slapping or popping but since getting this bass it's totally natural and comfortable to do and I love it. It's a guilty pleasure.

Believe it or not the nylon tapewounds sound great with this type of playing. To my ears at least.

Since getting the bass I also put together an Avatar B210/B212 stack to go with it and it's killer.

It's no one trick pony either, I can get alot of tonal range out of it as well. No regrets whatsoever.

Did you guys already see the updates?
Those seem to become some very interesting looking basses. Not a friend of amboyna, but this one definitely has something...
Really dig the ebony top with bloodwood center - cool idea.

Wow! I am really, really, really digging the Bloodwood/Bocote and Walnut/Bloodwood/Hog backs. If I werer the guy with either of those available, I would totally make that a top.

Cliff has really outdone himself with this new batch!

Justin

"Ebony with Bloodwood center top"?!
Sweet!

I would also love to have a CB "P" bass!
This group should be fun to watch. Any people in the new build a member of talkbass?

I'm in the new build and mine is the ebony/bloodwood top & bloodwood/bocote back specimen :)

I haven't posted for a while but figured I'd get back into it. I was excited that bass number two was under construction and when I saw the updates from Cliff on Friday...wow, I was just blown away..and still am. I can't wait to watch this bass take shape. Nor, can I wait for it to be in my hands!
