Good to have you post then! I love the wood you choose for your bass. I had originally ordered that piece of bocote wood for the top of my last bass, but gave it up for the maple top. I never got to see it until now, and it looks killer!

After having to sell and trade my last two CB's, I'm finally back in the club! Got the first bass posted in this thread from a fellow TB'er via eBay. It arrived today...and it smokes!

Difficulty depends on your playing style and what you prefer, along with how wide the fingerboard is (strings and spacing). Personally, I'm comfortable on all radii, but tend to think lower radiused often need higher action to avoid fretting out and sometimes the different string height over the pickups leads to slightly uneven volume between strings.

Naturally, compound fingerboards are usually a nice compromise, allowing a traditional comfort and flattening out in the upper register.

I wanted to share with the CB group the changes that I made to my SC CB bass. I decided to change the chrome hardware out for black hardware. Cliff went above and beyond in helping me get the correct brand hardware I needed. He also help point me in the right direction on getting wooden knobs made by David King.

Thanks everyone. I just really like my Single Cut so much more now! Cliff's basses are just so comfortable to play. I had my tonsils taken out yesterday, so I'm out of work for two weeks of bass playing bliss.

Has everyone seen the recent post today on Cliff's news page? Looks like he is tempting all the previous owners to come back for a sale. I really wanted a short scale "P" bass.

Just when I think I have gotten away and GAS has finally settled..... he pulls me back in :bawl:

Cliff definitely takes care of us. If'n I didn't have a bass in the next build and a bunch of bike stuff I needed, I'd consider ordering another. I'll probably be ordering another soon after the completion of my upcoming Rami 6er.

Really looking forward to seeing a Rami 6er. I bet that bass is going to be VERY comfortable to play!

I keep getting ready to order a four string from another builder, but the service you get with Cliff is just so great.

I might have to go with a fourth CB. I have always wanted one of Cliff's short scale basses.

Short scales are definitely fun to play. I almost feel guilty that I haven't really touched this ability of Cliff's. The Rami 6 will be only one of 3 basses I've ever owned in 34" scale, but the first with a low B. Thus far, I'm planning on my next 6er to be 36"-33" (essentially 1" shorter than a Dingwall).

I'm very stoked to get the Rami. Both my Rob Allen and Conklin are 35" scale 6ers. It will be nice to have something a touch smaller overall. I'm very excited to see what I can do with the 4 band EQ, coil taps, Z modes, etc. I'm hoping the acrylized fingerboard is a little more weather resistant to the drastic humidity changes.

That new build sounds killer.

You'll really like the Z mode switch! It gives you so much different sound out of one bass.

I have been stuck playing 35inch scale basses since my first CB bass. The size is just really comfortable for me. I got a SX 34inch scale P bass, and it just feels a little off, but that's not stopping me from wanting to try out a short scale from Cliff.

Well, I've been cautiously eyeing these basses for some time now, so today I finally made a deposit on a passive 4-string Ball bass. I have been looking at several other luthiers lately but the aesthetics keep me coming back to the Bordwells, not to mention the killer prices. Here's to waiting!
