Yes, #178 is Bastogne Walnut. I was really smitten with how beautiful Warthumb's bass is and Tom was able to get another slab of the same walnut. 178 will be an Alto body 4 string with a 32" walnut and wenge fretted neck with an ebony board. I am going with a Nordstrand P-J setup for the pickups.

That Bastogne walnut is just about killing me!
I so want a walnut bodied bass, it isnt funny, but I know the budget just wont work for awhile yet. :scowl:

But congrats and enjoy to the lucky SOB's who are getting those 3 basses. :hyper:

I love my Clement more and more every day! Picked up my fretted for the first time since i got the Clement today. Did not like it at all, it's just wrong. The smooth neck and low action on the Clement are just fantastic! Fretless all the way for me now!

I know that feeling. Frets just feel bulky and awkward now and sound "tinny". Also, since my 174 will have a wider string spacing, I've been playing the jazz exclusively. Now if I go back to the SR506, my fingers are really cramped for space.

*Could I interest anyone in a couple Ibanezes or Washburns?* ;)

She ain't no square no more!!

That's exactly my issue aswell! The Gecko is 17mm and feels cramped now. I think the neck on the Clement is slimmer too, very easy to play.

I'm not a clement owner, but with you all the way on fretless :)

I still dribble over your Walnut with every pic you post!!
That walnut with the ebony neck is a nice combo :)

Straight back at ya BP! Tom's putting in the hours for sure! Its great being able to see them coming together (and so quickly too!)

Are my eyes playing up, or is that 28 frets? On a 32" neck? I'd need to cut a quarter inch off the thickness of my fingers to play anything above the 24th!!!
