After asking you guys (are you all guys?) about Tom's necks, I decided to take the plunge and have #181 on order. Tom already glued the body and top today. It's going to have a redwood burl top like kjpollo. Can't wait...

Yeah, congrats NBM. Good news on your bass wavey. I am sure as fast at Tom is going your bass will be done soon. Here are the latest pictures as of this morning of #178 in full mock up. Tom is going to install the Xtender today and test her out and then the oiling will begin! Looks like I an going to get REALLY Sweet Christmas present this year!:bassist:

Man that is SWEEEEEEET!!!

So thats one piece of Walnut for the body, right? Not usually a fan of gold hardware, but it looks spot on with the wood, and is only gonna look better as the oil goes on!!

With the way that you chosen your options (28/9 frets & small alto body) it really doesn't look like a short scale bass at all! I would never have guessed it was without reading you previous postings!

Wowzer! That's gonna look very nice. Pardon me if you've posted this already, but what pickups?

EDIT: Never mind, I looked back and saw they're Nordy P/Js. :)

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic..

Bass #181 is a redwood burl top on mahogany, Tom's new (I think) "Kim" body shape that is much like a jazz body as you can see. Black layer between top and body, reliefs for belly and forearm. 5-part mahogany and maple neck, 5 string fretless with fretlines (I gotta be able to go back and forth easily), ebony fingerboard, Bartolini PJ pups with an 18v system. Black hardware. Here's the best pic so far.
