Solid bodied Anne 6 fretless, spanish cedar body, no fancy top, one piece maple neck, ebony FB unlined w/ebony nut, Bart xxM56c quad coil pup @ 110 mm from saddles (18mm spacing), one volume pot and jack top mounted. The butt end will have a modified shape.

Are you going to be able to do any coil-tapping with the quad coil pickup? I'm not familiar with that one at all.
Seen as she's nearly ready, I need to start thinking about a nice cosy home fo #177. Anyone with any recommendations on cases for a wide Joan?
They say you can but I like running it full bore as is. I am expecting open, smooth notes. No Jaco stuff here. More "P" ish than "J" ish, so to speak. Gentle breezes - no chainsaws.

I have one of IGiG bags that I really like. If you want something a little more substantial I also have had good luck with the Gator semi-rigid cases. They are light, but protect really well. I think a wide Joan should fit well in either one.

Aahhh, gotcha. So I'm guessing pickup placement will be more in the neck position then?

I love my ProTec and Undercover gigbags. Can't imagine they would be too small for a wide Joan.
The Undercover bags are available from Bass Central (and can probably be used to ship the bass)

How wide is a wide Joan? My Hanewinckel Draken body is 13-5/16" wide, and it fits in a Pro Tec Contego Case.
Someone once asked Tony Williams why his cymbals were so high above the drumkit, and his reply was something to the effect of "Just to make it a little harder for me."

Good morning and happy new year to all. I had a lot of fun last night playing 150 and 176. I hope this year rocks for all of us! 
Swapped out the Bartolini CB's for the Nordstrand Big Splits and test drove my Phoenix last night....
HOLY CRAP!!!! That's the sound I was looking for!! I'll post new pics this weekend and I f I can get a good sound recording direct into Garage band I'll post sound clips, as well.
