Anne or Lise at 1.5" solid body would be GOOD! Spanish cedar, maybe a mango top?, 3/4" radius @ the upper edges, ebony FB on a one piece maple neck, ebony nut, one Bartolini xxxM56c quad coil pup at 110 mm from saddles, one volume pot and input jack on top by the bridge. Simple and sweet. :)

I love mango wood too!
I'm a huge fan of the Lise shape, I love it when form follows function.
The design rule always tends to be the other way round, but I always love how things the wrong way round turn out.
The Lise, is a very fine example of it too :)
I'd love a 6 string Lise myself, might knock a wee spec out, just for fun...

I posted the comparison on the old forum (probably close to the last post). In my opinion the dynamics, range and quality of tone of Tom's bass compared amazingly well to an instrument priced two times as much.

When we get custom basses from Tom we're getting huge value with no compromises. There's no sense that "the clement would be better if only...."

In simple terms you could buy TWO beautifully-equipped and finished Clement basses for the price of the Deep5 and give one to me.:ninja:

Stew works for Nordstrand so I think we all know what kind of pickup it is!!:D
otherwise-its as basic as you can get-ash body, maple neck, bloodwood fingerboard.



I'm also VERY jealous of you guys who got the basses with the stunning bastogne walnut bodies!!

Also-Mr Walker-kudos on the arrangement of Feliz Navidad!! Very tasteful playing!

Sorry for the delay. Been playing and snacking.

I'd noticed that during drum solos and extended audience sing-a-longs I'd get a bit hungry. At first I tried putting my Snickers bars on my amp (hard to get melted chocolate out of transformers), taping them to mike stand didn't work either (lead singer would pilfer). So when Tom and I discussed building a chambered bass, I realized that those chambers could be put to better use than just making the bass go "mwahh"

The rumors that Tom is not only a brilliant bass-maker but also talented refrigeration expert are true! We found we could add a cooling chamber to the "hollow Jon" body and phantom power it like an Alembic. My snickers bars would be cool and fresh despite the bright lights. AND THE BASS SOUNDS AWESOME TOO!

The Snickers Bass was almost done when disaster struck. It seems we'd stumbled upon classified technology. The men from the government told us that the bass/chiller we rigged up could not only keep snacks fresh, but was invisible to radar. We'd have to surrender the technology in the name of national security. All we have left is this simple concept rendering.

But don't despair! Tom and I are working tirelessly on a new chambering system that may also offer hot espresso drinks as well.
