Born in Wheatridge, lived in Arvada.
We try to get back each year for a week or so for the powder or just discovery. Co. has some really cool museums, geology and people. Best trip - helio ride into the Royal Gorge, breathtaking!

Hi Folks - I thought you might like to see the birth of a new baby from Tom Clement Basses...

Tom is making me his first-ever 7-string fretted (wide-neck) bass and this is a picture of the neck (prior to truss-rod insertion and fretboard glueing) compared to a Clement 4-string.

I'll add other pictures as it takes shape if other members of TalkBass.com would like to see its development...

Well the shop is a bit of a mess but I may have to do it sometime.

You're still going to have to upload it somewhere on the web in order to link to it. You probably have server space as part of internet provider. If you already have a web page, you could uploaded to where the files for that are and send us a link to the address.

What did you settle on for fingerboard/fretboard wood? frets or fretless?

Nice groove and nice sound! I especially like the scoopy sound of the lower end. I'm assuming you ran this pretty much straight into Garage Band w/o efx, EQ.

Tom said I was his 1st 6 fretted bass build . Congratulations on your 7 string build. That walnut is a monster piece. I love it!! That's going to be one great bass. Welcome to the club. Total specs please.

Thanks for the welcome to TalkBass.com - much appreciated!

Here are the specs for the 7-string:

Mahogany body, Walnut top, Macassar ebony fretted fingerboard (24 frets), maple neck, four down, three up hipshot lightweight tuners, brass nut, hipshot 'A' type bridge (18mm string spacing, single Bartolini 7-string soapbar pickup (32" from the nut, close to bridge) all gold hardware, Switchcraft side mounted jack socket (gold-plated), passive electrics (one volume, one treble cut).

That's about it - I think!

I will post further information as it comes to hand or as requested - thanks for the further interest!
