In the US we have a program called 'Guitars for Vets' to provide instruments for war vets.

Joe

It's been a bit quiet around here lately. Everyone must be enjoying their new creations.
Need a little help. With the future completion of #184 (fretted sister of #174), there are a few basses in the collection that will become obsolete. Does anyone know of/dealt with or heard of any reputable charities that I could donate these to? They aren't high end axes, but they aren't beginner basses either. :help:

...or Lumber perhaps is a better way of putting it!

Fresh batches of Mahogany and Spanish Cedar ready for all the 2010 orders!

The Mahogany is suitable for necks too! So even more options to pick from!

Stick some frets in the plank on the left, and you've got Jonmusician's 7 banger neck, ready to go!! :D

Who owns #172 solid body Anne. Want to know more about it's life in the real world; feel, fit, sounds, etc. I love the looks of this particular bass. It rather fits my next project is you see my specs except the wood selection. More info?

Hi,

Tom did some further contouring on the body and back but still more to be done. I really love the black highlight layer. It will really pop once the forearm contour is created! He also sent an image of the initial neck glue up (maple w/bubinga stringers). The fingerboard is giving me angst. I have always loved ebony but that bloodwood is calling to me. Tom also sent me two fingerboard blanks to choose from (posted below).

Looking good Joe!

I got the black layer too, a wise choice!!

I may have mentioned a couple of times on here, my nervous disposition towards parcelforce (or Parcel-Farce as I like to know them).

I think the following will probably explain why my faith in these people is severely limited.

Copy of email from parcel-farce customer services (*cough*) yesterday

Thank you for your enquiry.

Please accept my apologies but after checking the tracking information, we are no longer in receipt of the parcel and will be unable to deliver.

I can understand how disappointing this is for you.

I would advise that you contact the sender to discuss how you will now receive the item and I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

And then this is taken from the Parcel-farce tracking website this morning...

So it is actually on the rock awaiting customs clearance!

:rollno: :rollno: :rollno:
What a bunch of Numpties!!

Sorry to hear about your 'customs' problems - they can be a bit pedantic at times... I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though!

You were right about the left-hand plank... that's for an extended sub-sub-sub-sub-(submarine)-contra-sub-sub extended range bass for me (ha, ha...!)

Tom will have some 'assembled' pictures of the 7-string for me soon, I'm sure!
