Also curious to know what those of you who are home (multitrack) recording are using for software. I've been going through a few free demos trying to figure out the best application before buying. "Fruity loops #9" seems to be quite thorough for the money, lots of bells and whistles. "Multitrack Studio" is a close second.
Whilst I'm at it, Tom graced my inbox with these fine samples of Katalox (I think Tapy Tap might have had something to do with this.....)

If anyone is wondering, the Bass is #175, fretless 6, redwood top and bloodwood fingerboard.
And can you believe that bass is HOMELESS!!!![]()

Coming together nicely!
I'm using propellerheads Record & Reason. Not the cheapest, but some of the easiest to use (IMO) and full of all the bells and whistles you could hope for.

Hi,
I am using Logic Express 9 and like it. My last experience with multitrack home recording was a Tascam 4 track cassette recorder back in the '80's. Computer recording makes me feel a bit like the Geico Caveman! I use the Apogee Duet for my interface.

Same here. Midi keyboard, drum machine, guitar, bass, effects, racks, etc. A room full of equipment now compressed into a tiny box. Production has really come a long way.
That is one of the things I really like about Record, you have total control of what plugs in where, so its like having all that studio equipment, but without the clutter and the need to get on your hands and knees to plug stuff in and out!
