Haven't encountered any flaming from the CC members!! We like to :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist: with a bit of :ninja::ninja::ninja: (and I like your avatar! Lab?)

I'm afraid I can't comment on the scale. If you could be a bit more specific on the info you want, I'm sure there are people here that would share their thoughts.

I can say that my Clement is bloody brilliant, and I'm sure regardless of the scale length, Tom could build you a great looking, great sounding bass. Especially with the heap o' new wood he's just got hold of!

I have a Stingray 5 HH now and love the tone but it feels huge. I like the singlecut design and I think a smaller bass would be better since I'm not a big guy. I'm interested in 32" singlecut 5 strings. Tom said he does string-thru on these so I was wanting to know of a couple owners so I could see pics and get some feedback.

Well I don't own one of Tom's 32" (mine's a 35"). but i have had the pleasure of playing a few of Tom's shorter scale basses.
Let me tell you they are just a pleasure to play. The ash/limba one seemed very, very light , i don't know the numbers. And if you are worried about extended range lower strings and scale length, I'll tell you that on those basses the B and E string was as strong and balanced as any 35" i've played. Also I like the sound of the high strings (G,C) a little better (less zingy, more full sounding) on these shorter scale basses. All in all great basses.

Hi swmmojo, the walnut 4 string in wavey's e mail is mine. It is a 32" 4 string with a Hipshot D tuner. I played 5 string 34 and 35" scale basses for years and this bass will hold it's own with any of them. It's E is not floppy even when tuned down to D. The playability is unbelievable and tone is great. I have thought about having Tom build me a 32" 5 string, but I get most of what I need with the D tuner. As wavey said, Tom is a great builder. I own 2 of his 32" scale basses and they are both killer.:D

Both 174 & 184 are 32 6ers. and can be seen and heard (174) here:

As for the playability, sound and overall craftsmanship, Tom's basses are far above anything else "factory" made. For example, I was playing both fretted and fretless SR506's bought after reading rave reviews for this model. At the time I thought they were great, but lacked that certain tone. So I started looking around for a hollowbody fretless 32" 6 string. Found Tom's site and had one built. Compared to the SR's, the neck is much more playable - even with a wider string spacing, the balance is spot on - SR's are quite a bit neck heavy, and the tone, well,:D!!!(and yes, the B is not muddy or slack - even for a 32).
I can only emphasize what others are saying, these are exceptional works and quality service and advice.

Buy one - you will LOVE it!

Different subject:
Put Rotosound flatwounds on #122 and have zero'd in on "that sound." I learned on a flatwound P bass waaaaaaaay back when i was young and never looked for tone. Now that i put a 6 string set of flats on #122 i am returned to childhood and fat tone. Had to adjust truss rod last night to offset the increased tension of the strings and the string height but now "Hello" .
Thanks to Tom for building such a wonderfull bass.

Tom was good enough to let me play this bass, let me tell you it plays and sounds as good as it looks. Also, as good as the photots are, it looks better in person.

If i didn't already have a Clement fretless 6er........................
