Having it shipped to Tom for the "Lined-Fretless" treatment. I thought of getting a separate neck made, but I'm told the walnut neck is stellar, so we're gonna do the removal !

. . .and tried out three of his basses. They were being made for Tom Bowlus, Ed Friedland and retardedpossum, I believe. All three basses were great. I've been friends with Tom since 2005. He was just starting out around then. The first thing I noticed about his basses five years ago was that the necks felt really great. Well, over the past couple of years they have gotten better and better (along with the rest of his craftsmanship). All three of the basses I tried last night were awesome. They played effortlessly, felt solid and looked awesome. The action on all three was perfect (for me). I really can't say enough good things about the necks that Tom builds. I'm not much of a fretless player, but Tom's basses make me want to be one. Ed's bass was fretted, so I felt more comfortable playing that one. This is the first time that I've seen the "Kim" shape in person. I loved it. I'm sure that Ed, Tom and retardedpossum will be pleased when they receive there basses.

Couldn't agree more on the necks. Mine's a 19mm spaced 5 string, but its so easy to play and feels amazin'

To top it all off, I have just sealed the deal on my Warwick Custom Shop Corvette $$, sold, gone, done, c'est fini!!

So now I can grab me a second Clement!!

Happy days!!

(just hope the guy comes good and clears the funds today, as promised)

Hehe, GREAT news. I also agree about Tom's necks! I wonder if Ed F. will post a video review of the guitar once he gets it?

Ed is pretty busy with doing reviews and videos of gear sent to him solely for that purpose, so don't be too hard on him if he doesn't find time (or doesn't find time right away) to do a video of one of "his" basses.

Been wondering this: who can help?
Ash vs spanish cedar body Clement basses - what qualities in playing, A/B comparison? If I had and ash bodied Clement vs an spanish cedar Clement bass exactly the same - what would be the comparative features/benefits of each? I have never played either kind. Help me choose? Just your opinions are fine no accountability is assumed.

Seriously though, 164 caught my eye, and I was very close to snapping her up from ebay as a straight replacement for the 'wick. Then after a bit of research, a lot of reading the CC threads on here, and a few emails to the man himself, 177 was planned.

And now the 'wick has departed, 164 can be mine too!!

Kinda poetic really!
