Expecting UPS to drop by an EMG 45 CS package today that I will install in Anne #196. This will put to rest something I have been wondering if I would like one of these for the "Darlene" series bass. Iam home the snow we have shut my employment down but UPS is running.

Well, UPS finally came, I installed the EMG 45 CS pickup, and ended buying another to fill both holes. #196 has the sounds I have been looking for. Quiet, controllable, organic, woody, punchy. Can dime the bass and not overload ears with excessive boom, treble is never harsh and mids are there naturally. "Darlene" will sport Bart system for sure!!

Compression circuit or effect loop. If you think the problem is in one of those 2 areas, can you isolate them?
Is the compression by-passable?
And where are the effects loops in the signal chain?
Sounds like a royal PITA my friend- I hope you can get the situation squared away.
Sounds like it might be time to invest in a good backup amp though.

Any chance of hitting the mainland anytime soon for a little shopping trip?

I've had an effects loop problem on two heads. They had a switch inside the jack to open the loop. Corrosion cause it to become intermitent when a plug wasn"t inserted. Some contact cleaner and working a plug numerous times fix it right up.

I've had an effects loop problem on two heads. They had a switch inside the jack to open the loop. Corrosion cause it to become intermitent when a plug wasn"t inserted. Some contact cleaner and working a plug numerous times fix it right up.

Been reading through the manual and onto Trace Support - I have a really bad feeling that Mr Amp F**er (read that as Fixer if you like) had stuffed up the loop section.

There's a Parallel / Series switch with a Loop Level dial - so in parallel, you should have the unaffected signal at the level set by the amp, and the Loop level can be dialled in using the knob. This isn't working - I'm getting no Dry signal at all.

The loops is engaged, on parallel, loop level min = no sound
With the level set anywhere above 9:00 (12:00 is supposed to be unity) the whole thing blows merry hell.

More experimenting tonight....
