I just wanted to clarify that they are all hand made, and that's one thing that is truly impressive. Tom is certainly much earlier in his career than the guys at Fodera, so he doesn't need to pit his experience against theirs- both are fantastic instruments and should be recognized as such for their individual strengths . That's all!

I think mine are around 3"... but check with Tom. It is certainly enough to get an "acoustic" vibe, but it will never be anywhere close to an ABG. That has to do with the thickness of the materials, the way they are allowed to resonate and vibrate, and such.

When that is said, there is a very distinct "chambered" feel of my Anne. It vibrates so much more vividly, and there are bigger difference string to string and between various notes. The entire bass "kicks" more... and when you blend in the piezos, the chambered character is also transmitted to the speakers. When play through the magnetic pickup, the sound is more traditional, although it is different there, too. More trebly and "fragile" sounding, in a way... more acoustic, in some manners. :)

Clarification: My chambering question included an ABG only in size and ergonomic comparisons.
And from your response Mr. Walker, it comes out to me that a piezo is rather of a necessity to tap a chambered bass's tonal character through the sound system. Did I read that truthfully?
Also, in this thought is comparing a hollow body bass to the chamber bass. I am familiar with the depth of the hollow body sound. How would these A/B compare?

Well, I have decided to sell #202. It is a great bass, but since I got #215 I haven't really played it. I prefer 5 string, and I only had a 4 because I couldn't find a 5er that I could wear for a 3 hour practice - until #215 that is :) So, I am posting it here first just in case anyone is interested - shoot me a PM (I don't want to hijack this into a sale thread). I will probably post in the classifieds in a few days.

Oh, I did change out the pups to a set of Delano JC 4 HE/M2. I couldn't handle the humming in the singles, and Brian Ristola at Best Bass Gear recommended these as getting close to the singles sound without the hum. I think they sound great!

Great bass!...and I love those Delanos. I think they're perfect in that bass.

I'd love to snag that one (as well).... but I'm working on my new project... getting the ideas sorted out in my head and getting the finances in place. Will be a very intriguing project.... Tom is fearing this one *evil laughter* :D

So glad #215 is turning out to be everything you wanted. :) I'm not surprised, but very pleased to hear it! :)

It's a great bass but I never play it and I need to downsize my collection. Not to mention I'm a guitar player and I'm lost without frets :-)

I purchased it from Tom via eBay and it has never left my house since I received it. It is in perfect condition.

I will be puitting it on eBay but I thought I'd give the passionate Club Clement members a first crack at it.

(I found this place by googling clement bass)

Thanks. I am lovin the look of the cherry. I could say the top is the cherry on top of the cake - but that would be a really bad pun and probably get me banned from the club!
