I'm looking forward to hearing your verdict on the Benaventes!

Latest news on my JoAnne: It's in transit!!!! :bassist:

Will do on the review.
Congrats on the ship to Norway. Nothing is yet happening to #256 other than waiting in qeue. Just getting ready for the ride. I need to forget I have started this process again; it will be wonderful when done I am sure. Need to get rid of the new baby jitters.
Shipped #196 to Georgia USA today. He got a steal on it. I sold it for way too little. Hope everything goes well there. I will miss fretless ERB for sure. Going through the next holy days season may help.

After wanting a Clement for 4 years (and almost ordering one twice), I finally sent Tom the down payment for one this morning. :hyper:

Specs:
- 32" Scale 4 string Ryan #260
- Unlined diamondwood 28 position fingerboard
- Limba body/neck
- Claro walnut top w/ accent veneer
- 2 Bartolini CB pups at the bridge (credit to Kwesi for the idea)
- Passive electronics wired V/V/T

Beyond excited. :D

Congrats, Dreagan!
Sounds sweet!
That must mean I'm gonna be #261! I sent him my deposit today, too!
:hyper: Me too!
Specs so far:
Phoenix 6 fretless
Myrtlewood top
Limba body
Black Limba/Wenge neck
diamondwood board w/bloodwood markers
bart/bart

What made you go with the Bart CB's? (I may change my mind!!!)

Yours sounds pretty sweet too! I almost went with myrtlewood, but the claro walnut top just spoke to me. :p Also, you gotta love the diamondwood. It's some amazing stuff.

I went with the Bart CB's because that's what's in my fretless Roscoe and they sound amazing. I wanted to capture its vibe in a 4 string short scale.

Yep! I'm pretty jazzed about the Diamondwood! I heard good stuff about it - should look killer w/the Bloodwood lines! I'm going with barts, too. I've got the Aggie OP-3 pre on my SKB5. I'm thinking the bart will work well on the Clement.
We'll have to have our own 'support group' while we wait :crying:

Wow, thanks! It's been forever since I uploaded anything. I haven't been able to record since my Presonus Firebox lived up to its name and blew a capacitor. :hmm:

Also, just heard from Tom; my parts are ordered! :hyper:

I can't wait to get the building process started. It'll be an awesome experience.

#256 is on the glue rack now.
Change was made when Tom had to report that the limba top I chose wont fit. Sooo, I just went without a top - ash body all the way through. I am going to do black grain treatment to it after I receive it. Here we go.

Awesome!
That might end up looking amazing!

I just had a guy here picking up a guitar I sold, an olp axis copy. Nice guitar, and when testing it out, I felt it was nice. Until I picked up Tom's guitar that he built me. Its just so much more alive. I guess I'm just a sucker for Clement swamp ash goodness? :D

Thanks Guys!
By the way...you all are to blame for this latest addiction :eyebrow:
Seriously tho', your input helped me a lot in this decision and Tom has been awesome  in fact, we nailed-down the preamp selection today...Bart 5.2 A/P!
Now I guess I'm expected to keep you all updated as this build progresses :D

Hey Gang!
Need suggestions for a case for my upcoming Phoenix 6. Prefer hardshell - but have used semi-soft in the past. Don't need an ATA-type anymore.
Thanks, Oilfieldtrash

Personally, I love my Incase Dub and single cases and have used them for my Benaventes for several years. I tried them about 7-8 years ago and have now given up on hardshell cases altogether due to the Incase's protection and added cargo room for pedals, cords, etc.

I didn't think they were still being made anymore, but from a bing search I found this from the goincase website: Dub Bag for Bass Guitar by Incase

I was able to put it in "my cart" as if I were purchasing one, so a person may still be able to order one. I dunno? :eyebrow: At any rate, I think they are definitely worth picking up if you ever come across one new or used.
