Gonna use satin to finish the bass AFTER I fill in the grain with black to seal the pores and accentuate. If you have seen the black/white ceruse you have seen enhanced black wood grain finish. To me it's still a natural coloring. You see the wood.

I absolutely agree :) So you're going for the same look and feel as the bass I posted (I know... it's an F bass... but still). Think that's going to look awesome!

Price going up, eh? Well, I guess I don't mind giving Tom more money when I get around to ordering my 2nd Clement. Every time I pick up my fretless it totally blows me away and I'm beginning to think that it needs a fretted twin. The tone is just soooooooo good. Of course, it'd be a while before I could swing it but that would be sweet.

I think the prices Tom are currently charging are more than modest for the bass he's building. With hardware prices going up and everything getting more expensive, I can't blame him from raising them a notch. And if I know Tom right, he won't be pushing them too high. :) He's a modest guy offering a great instrument at a bargain price. :)

Just picked up my double neck at the postal outlet! OMG is this thing beautiful! It's more amazing in real life than on photos! It plays great, the fretless sings and the fretted growls! And both have an awesome low B! Just another great bass from Tom!

Actually this is twice the goodness in one package!

And even though it's got two basses in one, it's still lighter than my Yamaha TRB6!

thanks again, Tom!

Photos, reviews and sound clips soon!

Well, Tom is working on the neck. The wenge FB is on solid. The body has been shaped, routed for single pup, back wiring compartment cover cut. Shooting for this Thursday test drive, any final set up tricks and into the Monocase gigbag from bestbassgear shipping to Tom's house for tomorrow. And if all goes as has been it may be in my possession next week. WOW.
