This is my Claro Walnut Headless #244. I have had it for a couple of years, and the honeymoon is still going strong. I have replaced the Tonestyler (my poor choice) with a 2 band EMG EQ. This is one of my most comfortable basses. And it will soon have a younger, bigger, cousin. I have been working up the specs with Tom for a Kaya Wide Joan headless 5 string. It will have 19mm spacing, maple fretted board, with Nordy Fat stacks and preamp.
I am as giddy as a little schoolgirl!
Well, it's good to hear that you are still enjoying the headless. What will be the tuning on the new 5-string?
The high C beckons me toward solo work, but I'm certainly interested in your low B build. Actually, at some point, I would love to have a 34" scale headless tuned one octave below a cello!
Those knobs are sweet, did Tom make them as well?

Thanks Gus184. I made the knobs myself on my bench top lathe. Tom sent me the leftover pieces of my bass' body sandwich, so they match up perfectly. I did these for my last bass as well (same thing on the body pieces from Tom):

Tom has my down payment, and I just sent off the Nordstrand Fat Stacks and preamp to Florida. The waiting/anticipation begins………….

I've heard a few interpretations of what the abstract image in the buckeye looks like, ranging from Lion King to moth -- everybody sees something different in a Rorschach-style image, I see the Lion King thing a bit myself.
I'm super psyched for the bass though - 6 string, 18 mm fretted, buckeye top/swamp ash body, bird's eye FB, roasted flame maple neck, nordy dual coils w/ birdseye pup covers, audere pro-z 4 band eq.
Deposit is sent. Order is in. And now, the wait.....
