Honestly I was surprised it was that low pretty tough stuff. Funny thing is i have some very cool figured Ipe Extreme hardness and nobody is interested in it.

Well, thanks all. You guys have helped put my questions and concerns to rest. When the time comes I will contact Tom and we shall begin.
And if I may - it a nice looking piece of lumber. Look at Tom,s website. Striped and flame in the same piece.
it is a beautiful fb that someone will assuredly enjoy! i almost went with it and changed my mind to go olive wood 
Been following that build on Facebook. Tom did a great job with the grain directions, both on the front and the back.
Thanks, going with satin hardware too. Should match up quite well with that top when it gets all oiled up.
