It’s been a while for this thread.
I just picked up a Novak BS-DS from the Classifieds (thanks, you know who you are!), which got me mulling over my options for which bass to mount it in, which reminded me of this thread, and I don’t think I posted any pics of this one I did a couple of years ago:

)Wow - I don't recall ever seeing this one. Very cool! Your mention of something Ric-like reminded me of a certain walnut Ric with a carved top wearing a pair of DarkStars.(I don't have the image anymore
)
I've been out of the club for a while as my Decade'ish frankenbass...
My new T-40/Wal/Decade'ish Frankenbass
... was parted out last year. Sounded great but just too heavy.
However, I kept the pickups and bridge and Tim at Lowdown bass is making me a double darkstar telebass.
Got some pics of the rough body and I'll get them up later. It's going to be a beauty and allot lighter than the bass it's replacing.
- will look forward to the lighter reincarnation.I’ll never let this go. By far the loudest single coil, deep, full bass. View attachment 3364434
I flipped it but this sounds better to me, so I put it backI see you have yours with the poles on the bottom. That's the way I always position them although most flip them.
