Club Decade!

That's not true. Your dealer is probably referring to the Skyline version. I have a US short scale Decade on order now. I originally ordered it as a standard scale and switched the neck to short scale as soon as I saw the prototype. Sonic Blue, no offense Markus. It very well may have been orange had your color existed when I ordered it. Not sure about trans orange over mahogany though.

I love Sonic Blue! I think the trans orange would look good since the trans burg does. If someone does order a trans color, they could go ash for the body wood though.

My Decade is alder. I wonder is anyone else has an alder Decade.

That's interesting. I asked a very good dealer, but maybe I'll ask again and be more specific. Sonic blue will look amazing on a short scale. When will it be ready?

Wood choice is not a problem. ASH!!! I'm only thinking natural if I could get it with blocks. Markus Orange doesn't need 'em.

This is true. I have a guitar that is trans-orange over mahogany, and it looks nice. However, it's not as nice as Markus' over ash.

Can't lose either way.

Well...I can't argue with you!

I was given a choice between two necks with different nut widths almost a month ago, so hopefully soon. While I agree with you all concerning the tone of the alder/rosewood combo, I have that covered with my JO4. That is my only bass right now and wanted the Decade to be as tonally unique from that as possible. Also Dan told me that the short scale sounds woolier, burlier and less clean than the standard scale. I think that, coupled with the fat deep bottom inherent in mahogany is going to be a monster, and way different from my JO.

What is the scale length and what were the choices for the nut width? Have you looked into which types of strings will be available for it?

Who knew there would be so many options on the short scale. I've sent another email to the dealer to find out about availability. Let us know all about it.
