Club Decade!

Here's my baby.. :bassist:

wow, so can you turn the preamp on and off like on the 4-94?

So I'm seriously considering a U.S. Lakland Decade. I'm hoping to get two totally different sounds out of this bass. First, a vintage sound that's fairly simple, organic, but powerful and mid concentrated for rock. Second, a thick, creamy, mid-concentrated, wet, and more modern kind of sound for rock. Kinda like a Chris Wolstenholme sound. (I would probably use a light to moderate overdrive/distortion with this second sound) So a few questions for you guys:

First, Pickups: Chisonic humbuckers or coil?

Second, Preamp: I know you can get a preamp installed in the 4-94 that you can switch off and on. I'd love to get one in the Decade if I can. I'd probably use the preamp for the more thick, modern sound I mentioned earlier, and turn it off for the more vintage, basic sound.

Can anyone help me?

Chisonic Pickups are what comes in the Decade. Either, single coils or humbuckers. Fralins are not available. You can get either passive or the LH3 in the Decade...same LH3 that is in the 9-94 and other basses. You can get those tones out of the Decade for sure! In fact because of the pickup placement I can get all of those tones out of my UD single coiled passive Decade. Super thick tone that is very strong in the low mids...like a roar. Or smooth and buttery thick.

So the choice is between chisonic coils or chisonic humbuckers. Which do you guys prefer?

Wow! I like your boldness in color choice. Don't you have a bugundy mist JO? The combo is gonna hurt the eyes (in a good way).:hyper:

I love it. I'm really looking forward to hearing your opinion of the short scale.

Thanks and yes I do have a burg mist JO. Sonic blue and burgundy mist are my two favorite classic bass colors. I'll definitely post my opinions on the short scale after i get it at the end of the week.
