What is the scale length and what were the choices for the nut width? Have you looked into which types of strings will be available for it?
Who knew there would be so many options on the short scale. I've sent another email to the dealer to find out about availability. Let us know all about it.
ahhh, I don't know. That sounds like a lot of damage and not enough discount for this guy. thanks for the heads up though
Evan's info is correct. 1.5" and 1.62". A month ago they had built one of each and gave me first choice. i went with the 1.5". I haven't looked into string types for it. You should just email Brian or Leo at Lakland to get the info. Then just order it through your dealer.
I thought about it, because I could possibly afford it, but I don't want a gimpy one to be my first lakland.
Wow... all this time, and I don't think I ever joined Club Decade (FAIL). Technically, I'm no longer a Decade owner, but...
I've got a little something in the works. I'm planning on getting one of my prior Decades and having Pat Wilkins refinish it. Does anyone know what kind of turnaround the guy has? Obviously refinishing a bass takes time. I just don't know what to expect.
The real question is: shell pink, black, or seafoam green? I like the way the pastels and the blocks play off each other; but I think black on black w/ blocks would be HOT...
Well, I finally couldn't resist the looks and sound of this beauty. Bought it a month ago and it sounds absolutly killer! The Chi-Sonics have a great growl and very pleasant midrange. The setup was ok (Plek'd), but could use some more adjustment to make it play like butter.![]()
One minor thing is that the pickguard has not been cut straight next to the bridge pickup, but I've already got a replacement from Lakland for free

I use S.I.T. Silencers on this bass, they just give the Decade that extra body in the tone, compared with rounds. So, do I deserve a Club Decade # with this?
Before I bought it, I thougth I would prefer Darkstars in it, since I already have 2 basses with Darkstars, but the Chi-Sonics have a voice of their own. Love it! And since there show up so many beautiful Darkstar-basses in this thread, I thought I'd share these two beauties also with you:

Thanks, I'll wear the number proud. And you won't be surprised I'm playing in a Allman Brothers Tribute. With these 3 basses I'm more than fully equiped for the job
That Orange JO, is that yours? What a beautiful finish, absolutly stunning!
I agree with Evan that that's on the high side. However, MF is running a 20% discount on phone orders right now, according to this thread.Just fyi for you decade fans. The musicians friend outlet here in kc has had one with a little damage (the second pot is broken clean off and there is some finish cracking around it) for right at $1000 (however they usually have %40-%50 off scratch and dent)
Congrats! I have a Skyline Decade and it's a great bass. (Mine has humbucking Chis, w/push-pull on the tone knob to approximate single-coils). I have a Dark Starred Glaub as well. I agree, Chis and the DS are two different flavors of great.Well, I finally couldn't resist the looks and sound of this beauty. Bought it a month ago and it sounds absolutly killer!
Yeah...it's mine. Thanks! I had it refinished and showed Dan Lakin. Now it is offered on Lakland's site as "Markus Orange".
