Club Decade!

i just put some d'addario half rounds on my decade. i think i found the perfect balance. while i really loved the the JO flats. they just werent cutting thru in my band. these really sound great. they are nickle coated also. they are very warm and have perfect amount of growl and articulation.

I found the thread---you must've saved the pictures from the auction---I don't remember them. Reading the TB thread was funny, some thought it was worth it, others not. I got it for less than half its cost new. I contact Lakland to see how much it would cost to restore it with the DS in instead of the Chi-sonics. Total cost, with restoration was 1/2 the cost of a new US Decade. I went for it! And not looking back (although, that photoshop of the white one with ebony neck and black pickguard has me thinking).

Do you string them through the body, or bridge?

Yeah...I think it was the auction...I rememebr seeing it and going damn...there is a Sholine gold Decade already! Mine was on order already. But ...Glad I got the gold. Totally loving it!

I picked up my Skyline Decade late this afternoon, and it rocks! It's beautiful, light and huge-sounding (I really like both the single-coil and humbucking tones and several variations thereof). I'll take a cellphone shot tomorrow when it's light. Time to eat, then do some more playing...

Lakland really has something special in the Decades!

Hmmmm---not comfortable? How do you sling your bass and where do you put your hands (I don't think I ever picked up a bass that was not comfortable to play, aside from the few that have logs for necks, but even those were comfotable when slung and plucking).

Congrats----I envy you---I want mine back real bad. I thought waiting six weeks wasn't going to be too bad (I should have never played it first before sending it off).

It wasn't the neck or the pickups, it was how the body sat against me. The inset of the body is further back which puts the lower register farther away from me. Sitting down with it was fine, but it was not fun with a strap.
