I saw jaco's son felix playing one of these with a band called the heavy pets which I must say was a great show but the bass tone was amazing and since he didnt have anything to impressive for a rig Im guessing it was the bass. Hope to lay my hands on one someday

So my AC5's serial number sticker is starting to peel up at one edge. Might be because it wasn't positioned perfectly when it was applied, but I'm not going to try to pull it up and reposition it now. The numbers themselves aren't very dark either - kinda hard to read.

So does anyone else's bass have this problem? Why does George use these "stickers" anyway? Seems a little odd for this caliber of instrument. I don't get it...

I would like to bud in and ask a question: What kind of finish does George use on the necks, oil or lacquer?

I use a satin urethane lacquer, same finish as the body but glossy luster on the body

Yes I can do 33 inch scale, but I could not guarantee the tonal results to be as good as a 34.5 or 34 " scale

Dominique's string spacing @ bridge is 17mm (.670" or 11/16") and 46mm (1.81 or 1 9/16") @ nut.

Regarding the zipper on the Protech bags, I did ask if they could be larger and heavier duty. It seemed to me the weakest characteristic. Overall it is the best comercially available bag I found (until I have mine made of course). They are lightweight and very sturdy.
