Well, first off, it's a P/J, which I tend to favor. The wood choices are also significant. Mahogany body, maple neck and ebony board is one of my all-time favorite wood combos, and the ash center tone block should tighten things up a bit. The overall tone is this great mix of clarity, attack, balance and fullness. The F bass preamp is one of my favorites, and one of the most "musical" preamps I have encountered, but to be honest, I loved it just set flat. And of course, being an F bass, it is super comfortable to play, either sitting down or on a strap, and the neck felt especially good.

I think is well said and I can vouch for how good this bass is. Tom got it right on and I can add also that the bass was super open and responsive too ( which I have a bias for).
