Club Fbass (thread 13)

Hey dudes I don’t know if this a dumb question, but I’m browsing the Fbass bass builder as we speak.
Hypothetically, when you choose one of their tops, does it then even matter what “finish” you choose? It’s not visible anymore, right?
Just ordered my first Fbass! A six string VF JJ, 33"scale. Ash body, Maple Board, and Red to Black fade finish. Super excited!:bassist:

Damn dude a 6er VF J! And 33” scale!
This is gonna be so bomb
Def keep us posted with progression pics!

Not necessarily - you can do a stain over a top - happens all the time (think of a flame maple top with a cherry burst flame, for example).

Question about my BNF5 (fretless): it's developed a substantial "buzz-out" in one spot on the board (the E2 on the D string, 2nd fret placement). I realize that this might be exacerbated by seasonal weather changes (it's just now getting to freezing temps where I live), but I think I want to have the board resurfaced, even though it is a Dymondwood board with surprisingly little wear. So:

1) Has anyone had this work done by George and crew, or conversely has anyone had this work done locally to them?

2) If I had Fbass do the work, could I just send them the neck for ease of shipping, or would I want to send the entire instrument?
