Love it! I actually don't care for black basses because they always seem finger printy... but I definitely like this.

VF pickup question. I have a '11 VF5 (ash/maple). Am I correct that VF5's are shipping with aguilar pickups these days? I'm wondering what the tonal difference is between the OEM VF pickups and the Aggie pickups, sonically speaking? Or am I wrong that the VF J's are not outfitted with aguilar pickups, just the VFP basses? Thanks
I know they are shipping w/ Aguilar pups. They have become stock on the VF series. I haven't gotten a chance to A/B them. F basses are hard to find in South Jersey. Just have my trusty BN-5
They ship with Aguilar's if you want hum cancelling. I believe it is Fbass pickups if you want single coils.

would definitely prefer HC's for practical reasons, but I'm mostly curious about the differences between the two, tonally.
I saw that bass in the flesh in Hamilton a few weeks back. That bass has been played! Looks even better in person.

When I first saw it at the FBass shop, I asked Marcel when/why they started doing relicing.
It is just worn. Cool to see a bass worn from years of actual playing these days.
Steve Swallow used to play a super worn FBass as well IIRC.
