Just giving an update. The p bass I got back in august is amazing. I have collected a few other fender ps since getting this and this always stands out. Its not perfect for EVERYTHING. I do feel that it sounds different than my other p basses but more in the way that every bass has its own character. The evenness of the moollon and the response in the pickup is addicting. Every time I see the used moollons sell for higher prices I look at mine and think is it really worth x amount of money to keep. After playing it for 2 minutes I'm always reminded how good it is and how its 100% worth keeping. I think even if the prices got up to twice as much as I paid for it, i would still have a hard time letting it go. Thats all for now.
You knew the weight when you ordered it and heard back what it would be. They weigh what they are supposed to. Who even cares what a Moollon weighs? They are made to historic spec and hit that in all ways.

I’m not getting into the flipping thing. But specs are known when you order the instrument. There’s no need to waste our time here with posts like that.
I ordered a P4 a few weeks ago and was not promised a weight. Then again I was not worried about it, as the weight of my P5 is reasonable to me
Not sure if others who had ordered new were given a parameter on projected weight or not
A shop can give a parameter for the weight at time of order, but there’s no way they can predict an exact weight until it’s done

Weight was never discussed when I ordered mine though with the 5 or 6 moollons I’ve played im surprised anyone would have an issue with it
Well, that said I think the Moollon P4 is the lightest of all my P-Basses, including MIM, MIA and one old P- a 1961. One of the things I discovered from Andi was the vintage style smaller diameter truss rod that YJ uses is lighter in weight than many later P-Necks.
Just so I know, what is the target weight you're looking for? The sweet spot? I can't imagine there are many that consistently get below 8 lbs, but my son has a Squier P (70's Classic Vibe) that is 7.5 lbs. I think if a P is really what you want (and not a Stingray Special, which is very light indeed), it's a tough search.

Hey everybody, dropping in to pass on a bit and heads up for major announcements on FB (nothing enticing, more like a state of the operation report for 2022) and will post them probably sometime this week here as well.
Anyway...
In response to discussion in the above, we admit that not everyone may be aware of expected overall weights when reading the old FAQ (hoping to update it soon, BTW), and we are just fine with folks who feel a Moollon isn't as light as one had hoped, just as we still believe that every Moollon will find its owner in due time. Of course, when customers request the absolute lightest of weights, we made sure it is conveyed to them that it just might come with significant neck dive as well.
But for the record, I know of just one 8lb Moollon bass ever made (almost exactly 8lbs, weighing in 3.65kg at the shop), and that was Stu Brooks' former swamp ash 2TS J-Classic IV from nay years back, which has since moved on to at least two other owners since. Those who remember when it got some airtime will recall the massively wide strap that Stu used to keep it snug and in place.
YJ really doesn't think it's possible with a standard alder body J-Classic IV or P-Classic IV with makassar/maple neck to come out anywhere close to 8lbs., unless one really wants to forego YJ's high-density hardware...and to be sure, we've seen full switch-outs of the head-machines done more than once.
A 1-piece maple neck (which would be slightly lighter than makassar on maple) and some luck with a complete unicorn of a lighter body choice might get close if you're lucky, but it's not to be expected and YJ just told me that it's close to impossible to get down to 8lbs/3.65kg. All in all, YJ always feels an MOR overall weight of 3.85 ~ 4.0kg or so is an optimum compromise for those that feel weight and balance are an issue.
BTW for those who know me and haven't see the blatant clues on FB and IG, my Instagram account was hacked late last week and I just got it restored just an hour ago, much to my relief. Sincere apologies to one and all for the inconvenience, really sorry to everyone who got spammed silly bitcoin trash from my account.

You’re right—I was curious and checked the feedback, it looks like it was the same person we’ve seen flipping a bunch of Moollon basses before. Surprise.
The good news is you still paid less than the real value of the bass and the dude who crafted it.
