Hey buddy,
I'd like to take a swing at this...my perspective. I'm into vintage stuff, almost exclusively, but not entirely. I have 4 Moollons because they are one of the few boutique bass brands who specialize in trying to achieve an authentic vintage Fender experience. There are others as well that strive to achieve this, but few do. On the other hand there dozens and dozens of boutique builders doing non-vintage bass designs, so the choices for a more "modern" bass are vast. Couple that with the fact that Moollon's Fender style basses are so beloved by so many players, the modern designs just don't get as much attention, and I believe the number of them out in the market is quite limited. Just my thoughts.
