Hope you're able to give one a spin in due time!

Chances are you're looking locally for a 1959/1960 spec (our biggest seller by far), but in case you're interested in a true-to-vintage swamp ash and 1-piece quartersawn maple 1956 and don't mind one from South-of-the-border, this one isn't even 3 months old and is the first production model that featured the 1950s-spec alloy vintage 2-saddle bridge. And at USD$1700 it's a steal...priced USD$800 below what it would cost new: Moollon 55p 7.75 Lbs | LowEnd Bass Shop

Heck...someone buy it before I do ;)

Yes I do. I have a Classic P5 that uses a single one of those. Very clean and quiet and captures the P-bass tone nicely. Two would be twice as good ;).

Sounds great! As I understand the pickups are related but not exactly the same.
But I’m sure that is going to be satisfactory...

I have a classic J5 and loving that so I can’t wait to get my fingers and hands on this one..

The curvature that matches the fingerboard radius helps to achieve a very consistent level of signal all up and down the neck. ...nice design!

That's sweet, man. What kind of power tubes are in it?

Also, I'm excited to say that should everything line up, I'll be ordering a P-Classic IV next week. I was able to sell a bass that fell out of favor with me, and I'm just waiting for the buyer to receive it to know everything's all good on his end.

I wish low end bass shop was open tomorrow. I’m in Nashville till Sunday morning and really wanted to try this. Probably would come back to NJ with me

Just a heads-up, folks...

I received word from the lucky new owner that the above 1956 being sold at The Low End was actually purchased before I had even posted here. Maybe the he (hint hint) could chime in soon to report ;) but either way probably good to know before pursuing a potential inquiry for purchase... Curious that the Reverb ad is still active, though.

Yeah. It did sell. Found out in a FB message exchange with Brian from Low End. He is out of town and didn’t get a chance to take the ad down. Was so close to trying a Moollon. Grrr

And file this one under lovely surprises... If anyone is interested in ordering an "NOS faded Burgundy Mist hybrid 1956" (2-piece alder body in an aged 1960s metallic finish, that is), in addition to Lake Placid Blue we've got a few of these bodies good to go with the standard soft-V 1950s quartersawn maple neck for $2499.

Looks proper stunning with 1-ply parchment pickguard.
