I started looking at these after seeing Scott Devine on YouTube. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these. They sound great.

Did a project this weekend where the client wanted to record the pre-production session at SIR in Nashville before tracking the following two days in the studio.
Brought my ‘93 Sadowsky JJ 5, Alien Audio Constellation and my 2 Moollon’s with me.
While I used the Sad and AA on one track a piece, the Moollon PV was the go to and wound up on 70% of the project. The engineers, producer, artist and musicians ALL loved the PV. And the engineer asked how I liked my Moollon’s saying he see’s em popping up more and more.
Tip of the hat to Young Joon Park and Andi Roselund for making my job easier.

I'm currently looking to pay my deposit for a P Classic IV, however Transferwise is asking me for a Routing Code, which wasn't supplied with the various bank details from Andi. Am waiting for Andi to come back to me on it, but whilst I wait, thought I'd see if anyone else had this 'issue'.
Essentially Transferwise won't let me proceed without a Routing Code, but one wasn't supplied from Moollon. They details they sent have seemingly served everyone else well enough, so why is Transferwise any different lol.
I'm in the UK, and obviously paying USD to the Moollon account.

Is Paypal an option for you? I'm in Canada and with Paypal it was easy to transfer USD to the Moollon account.
I also used PayPal to pay for my amazing Moollon instrument with no routing numbers, and no issues. Quick, easy and safe. Good luck!
PayPal has a worse transfer rate from £’s to $’s though

Figured it out. The Transferwise app is a bit crap it seems, worked perfectly fine on the website via my laptop.

I am seriously considering one. I'm hoping it captures the sound of a 64.
Construction, fit/finish, play-ability are all excellent. Sounds like a great Jazz should, IMO. I've never owned a Pre-CBS, so can't compare.
Me either but I've watched enough YouTube vids to know that I like a 60's sound more than a 70's one.
Glad to hear it's a nice instrument. I have been looking at Moollons, Sandbergs and Mayones as my next potential purchase.
I am kinda digging these for simplicity, passive-tone and lower price-point. If they sound like a vintage 60's bass with a little something extra, then that's exactly what I am looking for.

I can't speak to the Sandberg but I own a couple Moollons and had a Mayones HF. I no longer have the Mayones. If you're looking for classic 60s J tone - get the Moollon. The Mayones sounds nothing like it.

I was leaning towards the Moollons...I guess I just needed a nudge. I trust those who have more bass playing experience and have actually played the instruments; I have only seem them in videos and that's a tough way to decide. Nice to know my original choice and gut feeling was right.
Here's my take on comparisons to 60s's basses. I'm fortunate enough to own both P and J basses from Moollon. I was recently at Chicago Music Exchange and spent a couple of hours playing as many of their 60s Jazz and P Basses as I could. There were some great P basses but they also happened to have 3 very similar 65/66 Jazz basses that were amazing - lollipop tuners, some with just binding, others with blocks. By any measure, some of the most desirable vintage jazz basses available. All in setup perfectly with similar strings. If I had more time (and $$) I might have left with one.
Having said that, when I got home I plugged in my J IV Classic and spent about an hour playing it. I was immediately struck by how similar it was to the 60s jazz basses I had been playing. The neck profile, the sound, the overall vibe of the bass. I honestly think if I were blindfolded and someone switch between my bass and the vintage ones that I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Not sure what you mean by "with a little something extra" but if you're looking for vintage 60's bass sound, feel, etc Young Joon has nailed it.
The "little something extra" I was thinking of, is maybe build quality. Mass-produced verses a luthier who takes pride in their work and cares about all of the little details. I'd prefer to purchase from someone who loves what they do and want to make the best product they can.

Have A/B’ed a '62 Fender Jazz bass (real deal) against a Moollon J4 and a J5. Virtually identical w/ the J5 having a killer B string. Seriously, IDENTICAL.
