If this is your criteria, I'd say YJ has it in spades. Even just going off the NAMM videos of Moollon basses, you can garner the sense of pride that YJ has in his instruments and how psyched he is to hear some of the best players in the world getting down on his work.
It was really scary to take a blind leap, never having played a Moollon, but it's the best decision I've ever made instrument-wise.

I really doubt you will regret it, but even if you do... the used market for these is hot. You can likely get close to what you pay for a new one if not break even or even make a little on it. So nothing to lose but the wait time really.
Did you buy that used here on talk bass? I think I saw one just like that recently.
Once you get to the point of them sending pics of your finished bass it’s a very short wait. The shipping is insanely fast. Have the same specs in a PV.
Ohhhhhh Man! My Surf Green classic P IV landed today and I've just got to echo what everyone on here has said...I was nervous about taking the leap on this as well as I've been burned before. But this thing is PERFECT. Finish is immaculate top to bottom. The Surf Green color is so perfect that you just stare at it and forget for a moment that you should plug it in and play it! LOL. Then you plug it in and the tone is ridiculous. Bass was set up perfectly. Zero fretbuzz and the action is perfect. Had it come with the Dunlop Flats. Intonation is only a tiny bit off on the G string(not a complaint or negative in any way) but I'm going to let it settle into the SoCal climate for a few days before tweaking anything.
The second I plugged it in I realized how subpar all of my Fender P's have been. Some have played well but none of them have the growly, punchy, and airy sound that this does. First bass I've owned with the nitro finish and I'm going have to agree with Ron Johnson's description that a poly finish is like putting a condom on the bass. Really can't say enough about it. High praise to Young Joon on the craftsmanship and high praise to Andi as well for being so helpful and responsive through the process! This'll be my forever P. Good possibility that I'll be selling my Sadowsky J and picking up a Moollon J in it's place. Pictures coming soon. Was too busy playing it and drooling over it today.

LOVE it. I second all your points, sir. Guarantee you'll have the same experience w/ the Moollon J bass. My Sadowsky's and Alien Audio's are dust collectors at this point. Looking forward to the pics.
Here's a couple pic's of my Surf Green Classic P IV. It's already hands down my favorite bass I've ever owned. Been playing it nonstop. Absolutely gorgeous and the tone kills. I've had a bunch of Fenders and a couple G&L's. Currently own Ric 4003, Sadowsky MV 4, and a Serek Midwestern along with this beast. The biggest thing I can say is that it's noticeable when a bass is hand built. The quality of the Serek and the Moollon is just unbelievable. Love my Ric as well as my Sadowsky but there's that something extra about the other two. Moollon edges the Serek only due to the fact that I'll use it on everything and I've been searching for the right P Bass for a lot of years(not to mention I've long wanted some form of a Seafoam/Surf Green.) Ticks all the boxes and the search is over for me. First recording sessions and gigs coming up in a few weeks and I'm going back in to retrack some work I did a few months ago now that the Moollon is here. This thing is a beast. It's perfect...super clean/killer tone/and a head turner. I'll say it again...If you're on the edge with a Moollon because of the leap of faith in buying site unseen.....JUMP

Just snagged this one off the classifieds! Sounds like a 2015 that has been around a bit. Anyone here a former owner? REALLY stoked to get this bass in my hands, I've wanted one for ages.

It’s definitely Timothy‘s old five. YJ confirmed that it’s actually alder and not ash as most everybody who has had it has thought. Thanks for pointing out that clip, I hadn’t found that in my digging around. And it sounds killer. Super excited

Broughton Messenger has been on my list. I could replace my paraEQ and my HPF with it, and come out ahead with a nice preamp. I just wasnt sure what the general tone footprint was of the messeneger. A couple that I've been considering having tried them are the RMI Clean Boost and Classic Boost
