that CAR one that’s been on reverb for a while is pretty gorgeous
I was also interested in the Candy Apple red one as well, but between shipping here to the states, taxes and possible customs fees it would have been too much..
I've been patiently stalking the used JV market for a while now. That red one was gorgeous, but ultimately had the wider nut width which is hard for me on a 5er. Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks guys! Was a completely blind buy, but the reviews are so incredibly positive I'm expecting a great great bass 
By the way, I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and wonder if anyone (Andi ?) Knows why/how: sooo many on the NY jazz scene are playing moollons when they play electric, and all from a relatively close circle I would say: Nate wood, Linda oh, Matt brewer, Harish Raghavan..
Quite surprising, I wonder if it was a word of mouth thing ?
For example, Linda uses hers on a couple tunes during this greaaaat concert:

This one keeps dropping in price...if a preamp hadn't been added I'd probably consider it myself. The listing says 20mm spacing. Anyone know if that's right? Looks closer to 19mm.

I suspect that maybe why it keeps dropping in price. There's eleventy billion basses with Aguilar preamps. Kinda defeats the purpose of what those looking for Moollons want.

dang what a deal though. Could always restore it to passive fairly easy and have lots of "producer" controls.
Theres a few sound samples of these on YouTube and I think they sound pretty good.. I don't like the Aguilar preamp myself but love their pickups..
Hi everyone, I've been looking into Moollon for a while now but recently I've really been wanting the vintage P bass tone and feel. I don't want a vintage Fender, I prefer something newer and not necessarily Fender. Ideally I'm looking for a classic P hopefully with a jazz neck but a P neck would be fine too. I see the used market is very scarce, how are Moollons on holding their value?
You can get a Jazz neck on a P-Classic if you want to...they offer this if you are interested.
Others will be more qualified to speak on if it holds its value. My uneducated guess would be yes.
With very few exceptions, the used ones sell for near selling price within 24 hours.

I ordered my Moollon P with a jazz width neck straight from the factory. It is a common request that they are happy to accommodate. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a used Moollon P with jazz neck for sale. As for holding their value they go new for around $2,400-2,500, and $1,800-2,300 used. Well worth every penny!

Great price on the first factory Longhorn B524, and if I'm not mistaken it might have been the actual Root Beer Sparkle Longhorn B524 that was shown at Winter NAMM 2015(?), seen on the lower left, before returning to the Moollon shop and then heading off to its first owner in NYC:
BONUS FUN TIME: Other than YJ in his cap and me in the green thing, curious if anyone can guess the identity of the remaining four "notable public figures" at the Moollon booth. I'm 100% sure of just three of them, and have a hunch about the fourth

Back to the Reverb ad...If that's the original bridge (which it appears to be), then it should be as you have noted.
By principle of keeping things consistently vintage-minded among 4 and 5 stringed Moollon basses, YJ selected 19mm to be the spacing for them all, and all Moollon basses should measure up with the pole pieces / saddles if strung up as done in the shop/by your friendly neighborhood repairperson. Be it the 1960s steel alloy spiral saddles or the 1970s single-groove saddles (YJ doesn't prefer the tone of the plated 1970s saddles, but they're available upon request for those that want to go that route), it's the same for all and there are no other bridge options.
