Club Moollon

Beyond loving mine. I've played vintage Fenders, which can be fairly inconsistent. New Fenders including CS, and about a decade ago owned a US Lakland Bob Glaub. The Moollon smokes all of them, and I feel like it's the most bang for your buck that can get in a vintage style bass. You won't regret it!
I’ve got a USA Lakland Glaub that I bought on TB last year. I love the way it plays, but the sound was just really dark and especially overloaded at 200Hz. I think the previous owner put an overwound Fralin in there.
Well I just dropped a Moollon pickup in it last week and it sounds like a completely different bass. It brought the dunlop flats to life! It doesn’t sound exactly like my buddy’s Moollon P, but it’s incredible nonetheless. Bonus is the tone knob now reacts with a very useful taper.

I have a very expensive Fender CS ‘59 P and the Moollon blows it out of the friggin water. If I wasn’t loaded up on P Basses already I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Someone do this for a J-Classic, PLEASE! I want to hear all those sweet, sweet tones before mine arrives. Hoping for Oct-Nov delivery.

TI Flats sound great on that! Anyone here using them on a Moollon? I have them on a Fender American Original 60s P and they sound great but I had to raise the action quite a lot higher than I usually would (3.5mm at the last fret on the E string) to get the attack I wanted out of them.

I love TI's on my Moollon. I use both those and Dunlop Flats. I didn't have any issue with action and attack. I can switch back and forth between TI's and the Dunlop 40-100 set no problem. Dunlops slightly tighter than TI's and a little darker/thicker in tone but share many TI characteristics. Just the right amount of thump, tons of sustain, sound great with tone rolled up or rolled off, plenty of top end without sounding scooped, etc. I love both because of their versatility and ability to shine in almost any type of situation...outside of slapping, which I don't do.

I’m taking the plunge. Anyone wanna offer support? Going for a classic P bass. It’s gonna replace my American standard P bass. Anyone else get rid of their fenders for a moollon? Everyone still loving theirs?
I’ve Never even come across a Moollon in real life. Are you going to get a jazz neck? PJ? Bound and block neck? Matching headstock?

Chiming in for clarity...

Indeed, YJ is narrowing things down wherever he can to help streamline things and a keep the workflow faster than before , and has discontinued both Dark Lake Placid Blue as well as the "NOS Faded" Burgundy Mist, in their stead being Lake Placid Blue and (Vintage) Burgundy Mist. The former due to lack of demand and redundancy, the latter because it's surprisingly difficult to get right (funny me calling an accidental finish "right"). And last I checked we had one 1956 in the NOS Faded finish, but no more on the rack.

On further investigation, looks like they’ve got a healthy number in stock

The vendor will likely update things in due time, so note that the red rectangle

indicating 품절 / poomjeol on the items on the lower half actually means "sold out", so it's safe to be that the four at the top are the only ones still in stock at the shop.

Ok. This video made my day. I cant wait for my Moollon P. Only 4 more months to go...

A P Classic IV and TI's is a beautiful thing. It was right around this time last year that I was in the same boat waiting for mine to arrive. Haven't been able to put it down since I got it.

I really want to try one of those NordyMutes. I've been seeing them pop up in quite a few places lately. Maybe have to order one. Any Moollon users here tried one out?
