Hmm... I gotta check with Boss. You've pretty much got the 2nd most iconic Surf Green P-IV in the world right now, not sure why it would have gone without the details, and I doubt that US customs at LAX would have a can of petrol and a rag to rub off the back of a headstock.
Hyungwoo's father passed this morning so we're all heading down to Daejeon for the 3-day ceremony (both he and YJ are out of the shop right now, busy with necessary arrangements), but I'll try to get the scoop on things sometime this weekend or so, since the completion list w/specs and customer details are indeed recorded by hand just prior to shipping.

Thanks Andi! Sorry to hear of the passing and condolences to all. No hurry. Certainly doesn't affect what an amazing instrument YJ put together for me or my love for it. Would just be curious to know and if there's a story behind it.

I would say the P-V also because the same P-V went through like 5 hands in the last year. Almost my hands! So, not many floating around from what I see.
It's true; some of these singular specimens kind of "sleep around" over the course of a few months until they find the right owner.

Where did you have those guards made?! Rootbeer is such a sweet finish on these basses.

Pickguardian. Tony was communicative but I was not 100% happy with the guard. I sent my guard to be traced, and the line where it meets the jazz plate is pretty off. Also, I had asked for a tort more like this, which he said he could definitely do, but what I got was pretty different in terms of color and variation. I did a lot of research to make sure I was getting the tort I was after, but alas. And I'm not gonna drop 3 bills on a spitfire!

I tried but was not able to, unfortunately. Trying not to think about the fact that I spent 80- 90 bucks on this one, and it's not the color I wanted or a perfect trace.
That sucks. I thought it might be possible since you can get certain pickups. :/
This pickguard on my ex P Classic 4 was a Fender AVRI 62 (the original Moollon pickguard was black).
The bass is for sale now and as you can see on the add, under different lightnings, the bass looks different :

The root beer P classic is what I sent him as an example of what exactly I was looking for. He said no problem hundred percent. What I got was much more red and less contrasty, if you scroll back you can see my jv root beer sparkle with the tortoise
yeah i can see how thats upsetting, it looks nothing like it. more red than anything

I actually think the reason Moulon wouldn’t make me a new guard is that my instrument originally did not have a pick guard and one was added later. So short of sending one to him in Korea to be traced, it would be hard to replicate exactly. Which is totally fair. It’s just too bad it’s so hard to find really good tort like what Moollon used.
