Club Moollon

Hmm... I gotta check with Boss. You've pretty much got the 2nd most iconic Surf Green P-IV in the world right now, not sure why it would have gone without the details, and I doubt that US customs at LAX would have a can of petrol and a rag to rub off the back of a headstock.

Hyungwoo's father passed this morning so we're all heading down to Daejeon for the 3-day ceremony (both he and YJ are out of the shop right now, busy with necessary arrangements), but I'll try to get the scoop on things sometime this weekend or so, since the completion list w/specs and customer details are indeed recorded by hand just prior to shipping.

Just curious if you had a chance to check the records on my Moollon

I had the feeling there's no chance they would do it - would be a cool feature to have though, don't you think?

It really goes against the ethos of the brand. Not to mention, their wait time has gone way past the 3 months that I waited 2 and a half years ago. YJ is trying to turn them out, and having a limited "menu" helps streamline things a bit.

Did anyone ever see a P Classic with a flip switch to drop D on the E string tuner?
I haven't seen one. That's not a pre-CBS spec option so a Moollon won't come that way. And as mentioned, the metals are a specific alloy made to replicate the vintage Fender tuners, so replacing a Moollon tuner (or any of its hardware) kind of goes against the purpose of buying a Moollon; to get a vintage pre-CBS Fender at a reasonable price.

Edit: Sorry I didn't see others had already answered. As far as a drop-D tuner being a cool feature on a Moollon...nah, not for me.

Look what showed up in the mail today. Shipped from Korea last Tuesday, hit my mailbox today in perfect shape. 7 days from door to door. I have only played about 200 notes on it, no time this afternoon but, it sounds super warm, super punchy, and very articulate. I'll be looking forward to warming her up a little more.

Sometimes I want to order another Moollon simply for the pure elation of the day it shows up! Congrats on a beauty!

Reactions: Bassic Needs
Sonic blue??

Oly white

So funny how different these colors can look under different light! I was recently cleaning the photo album on my camera and came across this. I took a decent sized chip out of my lacquer last December and took pics to document. I didn't realize it back then, but I took these two pics within seconds of each other and they look completely different.

My bass is Sonic Blue, but sometimes it looks Oly White, surf green, cigar-smoke-stained-yellow, or something in between depending on the light and camera.

Crazy how lighting can do that.
