To all of you waiting on your Moollon's, patience is a virtue. I feel like they started to REALLY blow up around fall of 2018 or so. I promise it will be worth the wait for you. I'm a bit of a passive electronics, vintage Fender style snob, and it's my favorite bass I've owned in 26 years of playing.

I have been following the classifieds for at least 6 months waiting for the right JV to show up. Never did, d'oh! Finally ordered one a few weeks ago. I have played a friend's JV and it is UNREAL. As is his P Classic.

Fortunately the first couple (J V and P IV) I bought used so I never had to wait without already having one to play. Made waiting for my J IV easier.

Does anyone know what their shipping schedule is like? It seems like pictures from every new batch hit social media around this time every month. Does everything go out at the same time each month? Just curious. I’d rather not pester Andi, so I’m asking here.

Good question. I was under the impression the went out as they were finished. But could be very wrong. First bass I ordered took about 8 months and the shipping was 3 days to the USA. 2nd bass was about the same but due to COVID the shipping was 3-4 weeks. The 3rd took maybe 10 months and the shipping was about a week.

But not sure if they're are shipped in bulk every month or individually as they are finished.

Completions are done when they're ready. Sometimes solo after a weekend of adjusting, others in groups of two or three. Boss does what he can to keep things moving and best on schedule, but indeed there are always hiccups along the way (the LPB nitrocellulose lacquer mix from scratch this summer was particularly troublesome and put a few months delay respective orders), and accordingly the "approximately 11 - 12 months" at present for this years orders and those in the near future should best taken with emphasis on the first word. Some come out weeks sooner, others within the prognostication, and others are late birds, to be sure.

Why on some Moollon's headstock the signature is "Moollon Guitars" and on some others its "Moollon p classic" or "Moollon J classic"?

Thanks for asking! Been wanting to answer this one, and although it's never really brought up, I'll likely add it to the FAQ as well.

The aforementioned waterslide detail differences noted between what seems to be identical models can be noted on Moollon 4-stringed basses. YJ wanted to make a less-conspicuous way to indicate that an order feature was not traditional, yet still something that could be checked without making measurements.

That is to say, iIn the overwhelming case of a "Moollon GUITARS" waterslide decal being on a 4-stringed bass headstock, it's safe to assume that it is a P-Classic IV with a 38mm nut width Jazz neck. So if you see a P-Classic IV with "P-Classic IV" under the company logo, then it's probably a standard-sized neck, but if it just says GUITARS underneath (no "Classic" indication anywhere on the label), then it's not.

A recent case in point, a lovely Transparent Red Chambered P-Classic IV + J-neck with all the trim.

My P-Classic is kin to yours; Oly White with tort and rosewood. Sorry the photos make it look "blu-ish"

. Mine took 10 months to build and exactly 7 days for shipping door to door. I was stunned how quick it arrived. The first thing I did was botch an install of the Dunlop strap locks. I did not drill out the hole so I cracked the new white NC Lacquer. The Dunlop screws are just a tad larger, you need to drill pilot holes. Andi suggests white nail polish to "patch" the paint.The one thing I will now say after playing this bass for a month, it is incredible. Every single note on the bass rings. there are NO dead notes , ZERO. I need to flatten the neck a bit cuz its a little bent now, but I think its adjusting to Chicago. The neck is pancake style from the early 60's, so it is so comfortable to play down low. The pickups are very very clear and the tonal range, from thick and warm, to bright and thin, is really wide. Its light and to most it seems like any other P Bass. Its only after you play it and hear it that you understand the beauty. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine.

That chip must have hurt, but it's bound to happen sometime. I'm very excited to get my hands on the bass! In a normal year, it would go right to work with me. This year is mostly about seeing to the kid's distance learning, so I'll get to know it very well at home before it sees any action.
