I find several of the photos from Moollon have you wondering what the true color or hue of the bass is; I guess it all comes down to the florescent lighting in the shop. But yes, even pictures from owners sometimes don't allow you to clearly identify the color.
I'd wager all look better in person than in a photo but when you are trying to decide on a color, it can lead to some head scratching. Copper Gold being a good example.
Some outdoor shots of the bodies or the completed bass would be good...not sure if that would be too time prohibitive but I think it would clear up some confusion.

How often did you get updates/photos from Andy after putting down the deposit regarding your bass? it's been over 8 months now since I ordered mine but I wonder how I'm not getting updates about it.

I don't expect any updates until it is ready for shipping. i will guess that "only 8 months in" they may not even have started on your bass as they're getting the ones in front of you done.

only update I got was confirming they had 1 body left in the color I want. So I know the body is made and sitting on a wall somewhere, just gotta wait in line till June (hopefully) for them to make a neck for it, put pickups in it and ship it out.

maybe see if you can play the one for sale in the UK. Personally I don't want a p with a jazz neck, and if i spend this kind of money on a bass I want the color and type that I want. I say order the one you want new and get in line :)

I think if you order the bass to be shipped with flats they are dunlop 45-105. thats the only gauge I use on basses now, i hate the feel of anything else unless they're tapewounds which need to be a little heavier for tension.

I'm gonna have mine shipped with the dunlop flats, but can see myself going with DRs later cuz thats what the set I think I like the most.

I've used all three sets on mine and I think they are all great. 40-100, 45-105, & 50-110. I also like TI's on my Moollon P. 40-100 will be a nice and subtle bump up in tension but the 45-105 is very supple as well. If I had to pick I'd say I probably like the 40-100 but it's really a toss up between the two and you'd be happy with either. The 50-110 set is perfect if you've ever been curious about playing a heavy set of flats. Still easy to play and won't mess up your neck. Deep and rich sound. You really can't go wrong.
