Reference point: I've been playing an '05 Lakland Skyline DJ4 a little over 5 yrs. I've been playing passive over 20yrs (it's all I know). She went through an Aggie DB750/Berg NV610 and here's what I learned at her first rehearsal...(bare with me and my lack of audio-phile voacabulary)
Her tone as I can best describe was "authoritive and gutteral." The pre-amp is absolutely wonderful, barely touched her..a bit of a bass boost was all I needed. She cut cut through 2 guitars and drums and sat very well in the mix. All members of the band heard the audible difference. My drummer upon my arrival asked me prior to plugging in .."so what does a $3000 bass sound like?" by rehearsal's end he was very impressed! Me? well, you've all been there, I'm blown away. I'm a now a Sadowsky owner/player and I can't be happier.
ROGER...John Dimaggio (formerly of Bass Alone) sends his regards. I had him adjust the neck...she needed a little loving after making the trip from Massachusetts to San Diego, CA
Nice to OFFICIALLY be part of "The Club"! Sadowsky is everything you fine folks swore by! Now I'm swearing![]()

... I've noticed that I get a lot of compliments about my Sadowsky from non-bassists...ROGER...John Dimaggio (formerly of Bass Alone) sends his regards. I had him adjust the neck...she needed a little loving after making the trip from Massachusetts to San Diego, CA
My skill level is stupendously mediocre especially when you consider how long I've been a bassist, but what the heck, I still post videos of myself playing my Sadowskys. Sadowsky basses make me happy, being happy makes me play better, and these factors are the most important to me.

I don't know about this thinking Ken. I can't tell you how many times I've been through the youtube vids that you posted as I've really enjoyed them. You get the job done pretty darn well and sound great too. So don't be so humble.
Speaking of which, I happened to find this interesting funk tune played on a fretless Tokyo 24F... the "dance moves" around 1:45 crack me up:
These videos always crack me up!

Is it just me or I smell a fretless gonna be ordered soon?![]()

Thank you. I must confess and it's a shame I was almost embarrassed to post my little ol plain black bass next to some of the most outrageously beautiful bass top's in the world. Then I thought hell with that...she may not be a SUPER MODEL but she's far from being just the girl next door. She's sexy, sleek, and she's beautiful inside and out in my eyes. She's sexy Sadie and she's a Sadowsky!I'm not normally a fan of black basses, but i have to say that "Sexie Sadie" is most definitely just that. The black pearl PG is the perfect choice on that bass IMO.
My first Sadowsky was funded by selling my Lakland DJ. It was a nice bass, but when I had to choose which one I kept, it was a pretty easy decision.
I like that number. Thank you Fran!

Most of the time supermodels are nothing special and the 'girl next door' is, what happens is that we are so used to see her walking down the street that we, stupid as we are, don't pay much attention to her. Then, one day we hear her voice and we get to see that the beauty was always there.![]()
