Club Sadowsky!!!

The green bass has a much more noticeable change to my ear when going from passive to active. Often I use it passive. These basses have different pickups but they also sound different unplugged.

Your action is quite similar to what I use. I play medium stiff flats & my A is @3/32 & the E is up a 64th while the D is dn a 64th & the G is @ 2/32. With the wide neck it's nice to have that string slope so it's easy to bar from D to G while keeping a note on A. I'm thinking about lowering my action a tad on E & A. Hard to teach an old d.....well you get the picture. :)
I too like the pre on & flat for the P tone. Sometimes will boost some treble when recording w/flats. I'm really liking the RW bd.on my Sad'.

How's that they have different pickups?

When I saw the sunburst on the In Stock page I fell off the chair and I won't complain about my PJ at 8.3 lbs., but 7.6 must feel great on the back for long sessions.

The green bass pickup was made by Lollar and the sunburst pickup is by Dimarzio, maybe they are the same but from different makers, not sure. Yeah the 1/2 lb is noticeable on long gigs. Also, I've always liked how worn finishes look and they did this one perfectly. People ask me all the time what year it is and sometimes just for fun I say, '62.

Ok, how would you describe the differences between both pickups? wood compbo is the same on both basses.

I also love that well worn but not abused look.

Yeah the woods are the same. I'm not sure if the difference I hear is in the pickups or just the character of the basses. The green bass is a little more hi-fi and clean sounding and the sunburst bass sounds 100% classic p bass and then some, loads of character. The fingerboards do look a lot different, maybe that is a contributor.

Was at the shop this afternoon and they had an awesome looking PJ with what looked like an anodized pickguard! It looked like a P style body with a 59 burst and a maple board.

I couldn't take my eyes off it!!! Didn't get a chance to play it but man did it look sweet!!!

Hopefully they put up on the stock page soon and I dare say someones bank account is going to be lighter the minute they see it! :)
