@Dickie - That vintage tint Metro MV4 used to be mine I think... Bought it last January from Glenn at Bass Specialties in Bensalem. Loved the bass... 8.6 lbs... I played it a lot with my classic rock cover band and absolutely adored it... Brought it to Sadowsky for single coils and Lisa installed them. That was a nice change... No idea how that little ding happened. I think it was my drummer who hit the bass with one of the PA cables by accident... Taught me never to leave my bass out during setup...

Anyway, I'm glad to see it remains in a good home. I traded the MV4 back to Glenn so I could get an MV5 in the same vintage tint. It's the same bass only a 5 string. It's now my only bass and I adore this one the same as the 4-string. It's taking me some getting used to because I've never really owned a 5, but I really love having the extra range and the bass sounds great. The only thing I want to do with this is put in single coils. Not sure why but I think they sound better.

Here's the best picture I have of it so far... That's my wife doing her Geddy Lee pose... again, a link from FaceBook... I have to take some pics of it and put them on PhotoBucket so they'll display here...

Couple things:
That "Modern" 5 sure sounds plenty old school fat in all the right places to me. Sadowsky basses get tagged with terms like aggressive and modern so often, but they always just sound so righteous in the mix, those tags seem a bit of dichotomy.

Thing I dig so much about Will is how he alludes to cliche licks without using them in typical cliche form. Master player.

Yep, that's the bass, it is nice and I am enjoying it. I bought it for a back up to my NYC(black one)
The metro has a slimmer, faster neck, and I really do like the single coils, but the NYC is simply butter.....all butter all the time.

I do it both ways, depending on how much time I have. If I leave it til the last minute before a gig I'll do them one at a time just to make sure there won't be any unexpected weirdness, and don't bother with cleaning. But even when I have more time to do a thorough cleaning of the neck and take all the strings off, I don't notice any movement or need to adjust afterwards.

I don't know if I could say the same for my Fenders, but it's been a while since I had to change strings on THOSE. :cool:

I have decided to sell the MV4, not because I don't like it, but I have been looking for a high end P bass and just pulled the trigger on a U.S. Lakland 44-64 and I can't afford to keep more than 3 basses. If you know anyone that may want your old MV4 send them my way, it is really a great bass, and I would keep them all if I could.

@ Dickie - I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling the MV4 because it's a beautiful bass. I really liked the way it resonates. It's wood is very responsive, although that's no surprise to anyone on this list!

Good luck with the Glaub. I know what you mean about wanting to keep them all! I'm in the same boat, in that I can only justify having one or two. Wait... since I only have one at present, that means I can justify having a second!
