He's got great sound. I might have turned the sizzle down about a notch, but otherwise, that's bloody fabulous right there. It really sounds like a beefier P Bass.

I was thinking the same about the sizzle. Here's one player I'd like to hear with the growl of the SBF45's. Lots of definition but classic P mid-roundness. AND thru that Aggie 750 rig would be SO thick & meaty. Talk to him for me would ya.

Even uh... Murray, is it? In Great Big Sea? Formerly of Moxie Früvous? He uses a P as well, and a little Sadowsky bite would do really well there. I find that their bass sound is generally not all that well defined.

yes there are a few of him playing that bass , it looks like his may be one of there worn in basses or he has been playing it for quite a while , I would normally have the passive tone throttled down a bit but still love the tone , my Sad P is so fun to play , for whatever reason I can dig into that bass like none of my others , may be the wider neck , which be the way is very comfortable to me , super solid bass , just happy to hear one out there , and being played by thad dude is just very cool , there are also some other nice videos on that page , allot of great info and insight

+1 I think what you are hearing is the buffering that the preamp causes, which can kind of 'suck the PBass out of the PBass' (i.e., the buffering, combined with the bit of voicing in the Sadowsky pre, tends to widen the low end, extend the upper treble, and kind of 'mask' that low mid growl and lower treble organic grind that most associate with a P Bass with roundwounds.. I guess there is a reason why most manufacturers spec their P builds as passive. That buffering can work wonderfully with a J, but just doesn't quite work with a P IMO.
Still, a great tone and player. The good news is you can bypass the pre easily on the Sadowsky P's if you choose to get a more 'P typical' tone.
I do love the 1.75" P neck on my Sadowsky, The 1.5" necks are also great, but when I got my PJ with the wider neck was a love at first sight (should I say 'touch'?).

That is a beauty , mine is very similar without the broken in finish , alder body , vintage tint neck , rosewood board , nitro finish , aluminum bridge im told and I am still using rounds on it , I have flats on my old 75 P bass , my keep rounds on this one I like the different tones , great basses !I do love the 1.75" P neck on my Sadowsky, The 1.5" necks are also great, but when I got my PJ with the wider neck was a love at first sight (should I say 'touch'?).
