Club Sadowsky!!!

You wear it well!!!
:hiding:

Not to change the current discussion here but I just wanted to say "Thanks!" again to ElMon for a great PJ5!

It arrived at my work today so I took a self-portrait next to the wall of awesome. Seemed fitting. Posted some on FB too.

Anyway, it needed some serious adjustments since it traveled from 20 degrees to 75 degrees in the last 4 days!! LOL! Yeah, it was a buzzing nightmare!

And, And, And.... I have my first "Lisa" bass! How very cool!

It's been soooo long since I had a 5 string that it took some getting used to at first. It's been over 2.5 years. :(

It does have some gig wear as was expected but generally it's in A1 condition. Schweeeeet!!!!:hyper:

Now, my collection is complete! I'll have to get a new family picture this weekend.
Yeah, the tone is freakin' awesome too!!!

I LOVE U Roger and the entire Sadowsky Team!!! :hyper:

Lee, you deserve that bass. Enjoy the hell out of it, like I know you will. Congrats!!! :hyper:

Oh, and yeah, the whole burst with gold anodized on a P (or PJ)? Yeah, it works. :)

Thanks Vic - means a lot coming form you. I wasn't sold on the guard until I opened up the case and saw it in person. It's really awesome!

Canucks, have any of you been subjected to the cross-border UPS gouge on your Sadowsky?
Usually. UPS and Fed Ex pretty much always charge brokerage fees and disbursement fees. Ask up front. I've had good luck with USPS / Canada Post in the past, however. Never saw a charge other than shipping and GST/PST.

And are you generally subject to both federal and provincial taxes when receiving the bass?
Absolutely. Every time.

Yesterday Kevin sent me pics of the assembled and finished body for my bass. Looks fab, but it Made me think of something:

I don't know about US -> Canada, but coming the other direction through UPS there is a 9% surcharge. And that is based on the purchase price of the instrument.

Warning: it only takes one. I 'added' a 5ver to the stable once, and just under a decade later I have no 4-bangers left.

I was the same way up until the last 2 years. All I have is Standard 4's with D-tuners now. Got another being built!
There is something very cool playing 4 bangers with D-tuners. I am having a blast. But, I see a 5er in my near future. Either a Modern or WL!

Wow! Beautiful grain on that fretboard!

Congrats, Bluesy! :bassist:

I second that!

Very nice looking bass. I've been thinking about ordering a reverse PJ5 for a while now......just not sure what options I want. There is a video on Roger's site of PJ5 that sounds absolutely killer. Thinking really hard about an Alder/morado one.....but not too sure yet.

Bluesy....enjoy the bass!

Hey, I plan to record some clips of my ash/maple Reverse PJ5 sometime within the next week if that'll help your decision-making, right after I finish reviving the Sadowsky SS Blues set I have with some alcohol. I'm also waiting on some slightly used Sadowsky flats for it as well so i'll try those on too for recording...as well as some long overdue clips of how it sounds with/without the mid EQ boost/cut. Stay tuned.

Well, my new-to-me NYC 24F5 got it's first gig last night and all I can say is WOW! This bass absolutely cuts! Poor MV5 just sat on the stand all night. Ran it through my Aguilar TH500 and SL112's and was in tone heaven.

The only thing the jury is still out on is the control layout. It was ordered as V/V rather than V/B. May have to change that for the sake of simplicity...and it's what I'm used to. Either way, another top notch, killer bass from Roger and company!
