Club Sadowsky!!!

Hey guys, wanted to share a fun experience I had last night. I played in Bend, OR last night with Rubblebucket, and TBer Craig (craigb43), who has basically the same Sadowsky P bass as me, came out to the show with his bass. We got to hang and compare basses before sound check and plugged both basses in to hear the differences, it was super fun. His bass is excellent and very similar to mine, his pickup had slightly more output and his strings were newer but other than that, they weren't much different. His, like mine, played super even up and down and his had a beautiful, non-aged nitro finish whereas mine is aged. He also brought a great sounding 75 p bass with Sadowsky flats on it which I played during sound check, made me want to switch back to Sadowsky flats but I resisted the urge (I have an unopened set with me, right now I'm using blue nickels.).

Here's a picture of me with both basses (I realized I should have got a picture with Craig, each of us holding our bass but I didn't, oh well):

great show buddy , you guys rocked and it was fun checking out the basses , have a fun and safe rest of your tour and we will see you in Bend again !

They do not offer anything in that range. 18mm is the narrowest. Do you play a 4 or 5 string bass?

I play a 6-string Zon TJ model, and I'm really addicted to the tighter string spacing. I would love to get a 5-string fretless with the tighter string spacing....looks like I might go with a 4 string 18mm fretless. Anything above 4 strings and the larger string spacing feels strange, I used to have regular string spacings until I got the Zon, now I'm totally hooked....but I do love Sadowsky basses. Sounds like a 4 string is the way to go.

This was a fun moment this weekend. My son came in my music room and said he wanted to learn the Iron man riff. He chose to do it on my NYC VJ5. Afterwards he said "I call dibs on this bass Dad". Smart eight year old!

I picked out the Buckeye Burl top that will be on my bass. A very difficult decision. I felt like a kid I the candy store. The Sadowsky Reality Distortion Field has lifted ever so slightly. Thanks to Roger and Kevin for getting me those pictures. Very excited right now.

I'll need to get a jpg from Kevin. What he did was send me a link to a site to pick out the top. The site wouldn't let me download the jpg and when I told Kevin which one I wanted the picture was taken down from the site which was awesome if you think about it.

Good to hear. I definitely stressed over my choice. It's a good stress to have though, eh?

I have to admit, now that I know about CITES and why Braz rosewood can't be exported, I wouldn't want it on one of my axes.

I'm about to say something totally out of character, though: That '59 burst on that hunk of ash looks really nice.
