Club Sadowsky!!!

It's not quite what you're asking, but I did have the "full green light" from my wife to buy a friend's sweet '69 Jazz bass. He was kind enough to lend it to me on a gig, (Thanks, Jerry J!) and after playing back to back sets with it and my Sadowsky, I decided not to buy it. It was pretty much exactly what I was wanting in a vintage Fender, and IMO it just didn't measure up. It also attracted a lot more attention in a somewhat worrisome way. I've never worried as much about my Sadowskys as I did about that Fender.

Yeah, I can relate. I have a couple old Fenders and they feel like fragile antiques when I play them out. They're players' basses, but still not as great players as my Sadowskys.

This questions probably been asked 1000 times and answered the same way, but has anyone ever sold all of their vintage basses and kept their Sadowskys? I have a serious urge to simplify and am about to put a few old "keepers" on the block. I justify feel really happy with my Sadowskys and only have an urge for different appointments right now-lighter, fancier top, black hardware-aesthetic stuff. Damn you, Roger!

Yes

a '65 pre CBS P Bass (refin)
a '62 J Stacked Pot Bass RI (not sure of the date)
a '64 P bass that body, neck and elec were orig but had been re-fretted, re-painted and re-wiired.

Sold the '64 to buy '99 Vintage 5 str that is still my w'hoss.
Sold the 62 J to put towards '93 24 fret 5 string
Sold the 65 P to fund 2010 PJ-5. (I LOVE this bass)

So you know what I think about these instruments. :D
I am currently 100% "Fueled by Sadowsky".

I LOVE this bass!!! Fiddling with the GK 700 RB-II and the 410HLF today....not something I get to do that often. I'm usually playing / recording thru headphones. I forgot how much I like the GK/410 combo.

Great picture, and GREAT bass and rig too!

Seriously, don't sell the RB. Just pickup the MB200 and keep both. :)

I bet it sounds as huge as it looks! :D
I love my PJ, almost wish I had gotten it in a 5er... Maybe a M5 will be next on the list... in 3 or 4 years. :bawl:
Unless someone wants to swap up for a couple of jazzes. :hiding:

Nice, Bluesy!

This will be on its way to me very soon...

Thanks to Kevin for helping me get all set up. I'm swapping out for single coils and adding a Hipshot too. And a Portabag while I'm at it! :hyper:
NICE!!!!

Ash/maple with single coils. You CAN'T go wrong with that! :)
